...inevitably comes off as yet another ineffective actioner that has direct-to-video written all over it.

An explosive, adrenaline-fueled and hard-boiled action-packed thriller. A dazzlingly original movie packed with style, suspense and emotionally engaging characters and story. It's intense, gripping, thrilling and deeply moving. A awesome action movie that's one hell of a cool ride. One of the strongest, smartest, most compelling and original action films i have seen in a while. Cuba Gooding Jr. gives a riveting and strong performance, he tears up the screen with great movie star charisma. Ray Liotta gives a great and gritty performance, he shines in this compelling role. An action movie with great dramatic quality that just makes it more interesting. A wickedly entertaining movie from start to finish.

Dull action-thriller about the vengeance of a hero who tracks down the crooks after he was shot trying to save a bank teller that he falls in love during the robbery. The scenes made me confused and messy up of the past and present in the beginning to before the final shooting.

Hero Wanted was an alright film. If you will use a recycled plot and put it in your film, you are complied to bring something new to the table and I think 'Hero Wanted' failed to do that. It was the "mild mannered man aka Divine Intervention" all over again and to be honest, I'm getting pretty tired of it.
Now, don't get me wrong Death Sentence was awesome and they too have used the same idea as Hero Wanted but with Death Sentence, they brought something new to the overused plot. The action was decent enough but the blood and gore is in the middle. Its not that gory but its not suitable for the very weak hearted either.
The films only grace was Cuba Gooding Jr.'s performance. He gives off stellar acting that only the best can give. Its a pity he was in the wrong film. He carried the whole film all through out and that's what made me give this film a 3.
The ending was a okay. I mean, it was good and all but I might forget it in a week or two. Watch this if you wanna see Cuba Gooding Jr's brilliant acting but if you don't just pass on this one.

Being that they do so much direct-to-video stuff, it's hard to remember that both Cuba Gooding Jr., and Ray Liotta are award winning actors! Hero Wanted is one of those direct-to-video films. It follows the story of a man who tries to live the righteous life, but even the best of people have their breaking point. This was a really interesting story, with some unexpected twists and turns. It was a pretty good film that really fell under the radar. The story was great and the acting was top notch, but the way it was filmed really left a lot to be desired. The film is frequently jumping months ahead or to a flashback, without any notice or footnotes, it made parts of the film very confusing. There were also a couple of pretty big plot holes, that added to the confusion. This is by no means a classic, but the acting was terrific, the action was pretty cool, and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Thiks film is seriously , and scaringly violent. You will not see any of the crazy stuff coming, this film is not in any way shape or form, as Eccentric as "Shadowboxer" or as crispy Fight scenes as "Dirty", or the losely fast paced "End game", and the shockingly drool Action in 'Way of war" wasn't even worth the title of the movie.
Then it made a crashing halt on the entertaining parts, too allright chase scenes. It was still way better then I expected, but "Gooding Jr." will never outdo his "Men of Honor", and radio" roles. Never.
This film is also Full of Strong Vulgar language and Intense Violence.
