This is a really good horror film with some really intense scenes. Shame about the really stupid ending though but try and forget about that and enjoy the first 3/4!

"I won't let anyone come between us any more."
Some filmmakers just can't leave well enough alone. Others don't even try. So it's at this curious crossroad where I find myself both enjoying the unapologetic bloodfest of High Tension and extending certain digits at ...( read more) -

This movie is a bloody piece of crap!
First I'm going to justify the 1.5 stars.. the gore. Loads and loads of blood and mayhem. It is well done... very suspenseful and visually stunning.
Ok, lets forget about my morbid satisfaction in gory films.... This is an awful mess of...( read more) -

A young student with a butch haircut (no points for guessing what that subtly reveals about her character) travels to a school chum's country home, where a French redneck (or something) starts chopping up the family. Despite some moments of suspense, it's not a thriller as the t...( read more)

A magnum opus. One thinks of great and iconic first horror films: Craven's "Last House on the Left", Carpenter's "Halloween", Hooper's "Texas Chainsaw Massacre", Romero's "Night of the Living Dead", Argento's "The Bird with Crystal Plumage". And we should be reminded of these as ...( read more)

Pretty much the antithesis of everything I enjoy in horror. This is a stalker/slasher flick with a twist. The story is mostly close to Dean Koontz's Intensity, though with a cruel lesbian twist.

An extremely gruesome and fast-paced French horror thriller featuring a deranged (well, aren´t they all?) serial killer. I personally think that the ending is a bit daft though. The director went on to remake The Hills Have Eyes.

One of the best films I have seen in a long time! Truly amazing work! It actually succeeded in scaring me, and I don't get scared by horror films! People often slag this film off because of it's so called 'plot holes' but I didn't see any! Just make sure you have a very open mind...( read more)

Eu esperava mais pelo que tinha lido sobre o filme. Não é nada muito original (até mesmo a reviravolta do filme não é original), mas é um bom entretenimento.

March 13, 2007I will ammit that I loved this film. I love gore and this one for sure had it. I have reccomened it to everyone. Some don't like the story or the gore. The story can be constanly over analyized, but that is what makes it fun. You never really get it. Even if you dont like this kind of stuff, you should still peek a look at it.

December 6, 2006I just saw a trailer for the dubbed-in-English version for this movie and it sounds terrible!! So If anybody hasn't seen it yet, make sure you get hold of a copy of the subtitled version (unless you speak french that is lol).
