To prove his point, Satz disguises himself as a wealthy old man, then tries to inveigle a pretty young girl to marry him for his money. When she does so, he sneaks off, sheds his disguise, and appears as "himself," offering to be the girl's secret lover. At first she appears to succumb to his charms, but just when Satz is convinced that he's lost his bet, the girl turns out to be true-blue after all.
