Critic Reviews

  • Chuck O'Leary, FulvueDrive-in.com

Nicholson's intense, volcanic performance saves this part-fact, part-fiction biopic that's a little too in awe of its subject.

  • Alex Sandell, Juicy Cerebellum

An extremely underrated film. Well worth watching, again and again.

  • Jeffrey M. Anderson, San Francisco Examiner

A hugely underrated, passionate, powerful biopic.

  • Larry Carroll, Countingdown.com

A decent, but flawed movie. The performance by Nicholson is tremendous, and he really becomes Hoffa, but the rest of the film just isn't on the same level as he is. Unless you're a big fan of Jack, or particularly interested by Hoffa, pass.

See this for Jack's astonishing performance if nothing else..he's dead on for Hoffa, and this drama portrays a side of Hoffa not often told...fine supporting cast, able direction and tight script....it will keep the viewer nvolved til lthe very end.
