Fanatastic movie! One of my favorite disney films that, if I remember right, follows the book pretty closely. A great casting job here, cause everyone fits their roles with perfection. The story gets a little confusing with the flashbacks, but it makes sense in the end and you get a satisfying ending. Some bad CGI lizards were the only downside.
Still a great movie with pleny of holes alright, but their part of the film.
'Holes' really is a pretty good movie. I always never feel like anything good is going to come from movies based on books anymore because 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy are my all-time favorite movies and I guess I think that no one can make a movie based on a book as good as Peter Jackson did, but this movie was different, it was a totally different genre and it also helps when you go in not expecting to much and then a movie actually is decent, that's what kind of happened here, although I did kind of know what I was going to get because I had read the book before seeing the movie. For the most part they didn't change to much at all from the book either. They kept most of the dialogue the same and except for Stanley the characters seemed to be as described. I always found the story to be kind neat as well. I never really was a fan of Louis Sachar before I read the book 'Holes', and then I found the story to be so good, it really does pull you right in.
Anyways, the film was good and director Andrew Davis did a wonderful job and casting couldn't have been better.
A Story About A Boys Familey Whos Curesd And, Stanley Was To Go To Camp, Where It Has Never Rain, Takin Understandin What Has Happened To His Familey, Why Its Cursed
A great book! I would have been very dissapointed if they messed up the film, however, it was great! Almost similar to the book, and I really think it jump-started Shia LaBeouf's career.
A young teen kids movie of redemption and friendship set in a desert where a bunch of trouble teen boys are put to work to pay off their debts to society. Unfortunatelly, the evil warden lady, Sigourney Weaver, is really trying to find a lost treasure. A young Shia LeBeouf stars.
What a surprise. Someone suggested that I watch this movie, I was immediately turned off my the fact that is was Disney. I was thinking 'I don't want to watch some dumb kids movie.' I am glad I actually did give this movie a chance. I never read the book so I am just going on the film. I thought it was funny and LaBeouf was awesome in this film. It's a fantastical story that was well done with an excellent cast.
One of the top films for the family. Several valuable lessons learned along the way. Some things in life that don't look so great end up for the better. Must add this one to the favourites section.
A terrific movie to match an incredible book about a boy sentenced to serve time at Camp Green Lake for a crime he didn't commit, and how he escapes with his friend Zero. Great cast!
early shia lebeouf role, and a exellent young performance from him,i remember thinking this kid will go far, a engageing family film, that works well for both adults and children, concerning a awkward teen sent to a dessert child camp to do time, where time is digging holes in the land owned by owner and warden sigourney weaver, the reason being theres buried treasure somewhere, a fine story based on a book also, well directed and great performances all round
well this movie is like weird but somehow i guess cuz its a male critic he somehow bonded with the male nature of the movie so he gave it a good rating i for the life of me dont no why huh
This movie was really good the first time, but after we kept reading it in school over and over and watching the movie over and over, it got to be just ok.
