This movie couldn't be more perfectly casted. It feels like the whole movie is improv, the actors are THAT good. It's one of those movies you end up quoting all of the time...well, I do.

A Thanksgiving comedy every family should see! I love it. Your family isn't the only disfunctional one around!

This is one of our favorite movies of all time. Holly Hunter and Robert Downey Jr. are incredible in this disfunctional-almost like everyone's-family comedy. Do yourself a favor and watch this flick around Thanksgiving/Christmas time.

I watch this every holiday season and love it even more with each viewing. It is very realistic (at least for me). Holly Hunter puts the fun in family dysfunction.

Robert Downey Jr. was said to be a handful for Directer Jodie Foster, still it work all in all and there are some hilarious moments. Worth a view.

Sadly forgotten and vastly underrated. It's a real charmer, it's smart, and has some really hilarious parts. One of my family's favorite movies, and one that we quote almost on a daily basis. No other movie goes better with a Thanksgiving family gathering than this one!

awesome, awesome, awesome movie. the storyline is the childrens are home for the holidays and it would be a typical family except for the fact that your children invlude holly hunter, robert downey jr, and anne bancroft is your mother. it is an awesome movie, maybe 1 box of tissues for it. A MUST SEE.

A must see at every Thanksgiving, especially if you're like Hunter and everything starts to fall apart at the worst time.

Robert at his most bestest. The home movie on the beach is the absolute best thing about this film. Good for people that have a family.

Was a very interesting film. I found some good points and some really bad ones. I would like to see a holiday movie someday where they family actually might like one another. Not so much the case in this film thou.

BEAUTIFULLY directed by Jodie Foster, and a magnicicant cast each and every one of them giving most PERFECT performances playing very developed characters who we will all recognize if not in ourselves, then in one member of our family or other. This movie made me laugh harder than I've laughed in a very long time, and weep for my mother that I was never even close to, and for my youngest brother who I was close to. Anne Bancroft just get's better and better as the years go by. Same for Charles Durning. Holly Hunter, Robert Downey Jr and Cynthia Stevens were believable siblings, but the one that stole a bit of the show here was Geraldine Chaplin as Aunt Gladys. Helps us all to see the home in our families that might not be so "sweet"..especially at the holidays. The last three minutes had me snotty nosed sobbing. (that felt good)

Not bad. I liked Robert Downey' character and could relate to whole "holidays with the relatives" thing.

Amazing movie. No one aspect of this movie by itself stands out, but when you watch the movie, you can't help but be captivated by the lives of this crazy family, and the friend who gets sucked into it. I love it!

Really damn charming, actually, and everyone is all cuddly and wearing sweaters and making out. Not exactly what you'd expect from Jodie Foster's directing, but that's a good thing!

i love this movie because it portrays the real family holidays including the skeletons in the closet, i am sure everyone has had a holiday like Holly's in this movie and the best part is the turn of events concluding with a perfect :"Happly Ever After" ending
