The deeper the soldier ventures into the Northwest coast to locate his long-lost father (Whip Hubley), the stronger his connections grow to the people he meets along the way, like the embittered veteran of the first Gulf War, the step-mother he's never met, and the kindly British stewardess (Elize du Toit) he befriended on his flight home. When a body washes ashore on a nearby beach, the lives of everyone involved begin to transform.
