The Hornblower saga starring Ioan Gruffudd begins. Every last detail of the era is painstakingly replicated. At the beginning of his naval career, Hornblower is mired in a feud with a violent and less talented Midshipman.

For some reason I never really remember the outcome of this episode, so it's always fun to watch again. (Viewed 18 March 2009)

All of the A&E Hornblower adaptations are excellent. They aren't 100% identical to the books, but they capture the spirit quite well, and the production quality is high. The actors are also brilliant, and portray favorite characters quite well.
