NEVER To Be Reviewd, as I will not waste my words on such worthless piece of shit. Perfect to be force fed on sheeps. 10 minutes were more than enough. My true rating is a round ZERO.

Pleasantly suprised by this low budget horror. Lots of suspense and edge of your seat moments. Good horror and a bit different from the usual slasher flicks

The film starts suspenseful, interesting & once the hitchhiker gets in the car becomes creepy but probably for the first 30-35 minutes, after that it drags too much & becomes boring after awhile just seeing Penny trapped inside the car trying to get out with a dead body next to her.Penny is so annoying just talking to herself, taking pills, screaming & by the time she gets out the car, besides getting a chance to fight this lunatic is almost tours the end of this film.I was surprise to see few more victims died tours the end but nothing so spectacular.Another After Dark film not to die for.

Well I found this movie dreadful. Penny is the stupidest, most annoying main character I have ever endured. The movie is tedious as well. She is stuck in the car having flashbacks.
The end is ok though, it's just leading up to it takes forever it seems, and I felt a nap coming on multiple times. You're supposed to want the main character to survive

a pretty good start to a movie... really solid storyline..it waz more of a MEGA THRILLER / SUSPENCE then a horror .. but I think thatz what kept me watching... everytime Penny thought she waz free... it just started all over again.

A must see for Thrill Seekerz

it's in the title, dreadful. A horrible concept mixed with an awefull story and bad acting. I think what irritated me the most was the blatent misuse horror tactics...first when the movie started they were afraid of a snow storm, that never came in the movie...instead...there was thunder iand lightning...SNOW STORMS DON'T PRODUCE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING!!!! Stupdid things for environment that had no impact on the movie what so ever. Horrible, Horrible, Horrible, would not recommend to anyone.

She is stuck in the car having flashbacks and shit for so long. The end is ok though, it's just leading up to it takes forever it seems, and I felt a nap coming on multiple times. You're supposed to want the main character to survive, (unless you're sick... (like me)) which is the Horror movie cliche, and in this one I just wanted her to fuckin' DIE because she is so fuckin' dumb and annoying. This "Film To Die For" I recommend you die BEFORE you see it. 2 and a half stars for a pretty good ending and a creepy screaming banshee bad guy.

Penny Dreadful was pretty bad. The only redeeming quality was some good acting in a very hard role, but other than that it was just boring. A girl is stuck in a car while she has a phobia of cars. That was the entire movie.

Honestly if i could go into negative ratings I would. Completely predictable, cheesy scenes in which music was played. Bad attempts at suspence. Just a bad film.

laughable at times but breaks the rules of the genre: not funny enough; not scary enough. instead, it's unintentionally funny and mediocre in scares.

: This was the best movie in the Horror Fest series that I saw, and that is not saying much. It was about a girl whose therapist is trying to cure her of her fear of cars. They decide to pick up a hitchhiker on their way through the California mountains (great idea!).

Blah blah blah hitchhiker = psycho killer. Who would have guessed that? Anyway, he does some pretty cool torture shit and is very clever for being a mental patient. The stupidest thing to me was that in the end Penny is miraculously cured of her fear of cars and tries to escape in one. This is lame.

Horrorfest movie.... didn't scare me at all. Was a bit creepy at times but no worse than most b rate horrors/thrillers. Good to see Michael Berryman though

Mad props for filming most of the movie in a car, but I was hoping for a bit more. I wanted something scarier. I got pretty bored in the middle.

Now I could make some sort of joke about how this is just Plain Dreadful, but then I would be stooping to the same levels as this film. On one hand it is kind of brave, it attempts to mix both psychological horror and slasher horror together. It doesn't work however as rather than joinging as one they collide head on. The whole film being set in a car starts off as interesting and then becomes boring as hell. It's obvious the writer found problems as well, adding in a small subplot about some people close by just to off them and make it a tad more interesting. I couldn't care less about anyone or anything by the end and almost didn't make it. Balls.

In homage to the Alfred Hitchcock-style of directing, Richard Brandes does something with horror movies that is almost a rarity nowadays...not a lot of gore, hardly any nudity, and he takes the psychological thriller to a new level with Penny Dreadful.

The story of young Penny (Rachel Miner), a girl who is terrified of cars since a car accident when she was younger claimed the lives of her parents, is something that everyone can deal with. Everyone has a fear, and it's how we overcome that fear that defines who we are.

At the hands of a maniacal killer, Penny must use that which she fears the most - the car - as a source of salvation or her makeshift tomb. This struggle of the mind makes this movie all the more real to the viewer, and is what makes this a great thriller.

It takes a horror cliché & makes it everything BUT. I felt like i was right there with penny. I squirmed, i jumped, i gritted my teeth & gasped. Disturbing purely for the fact that I felt trapped in that car. It was that reality that made it scary. no candy glass windshield that breaks with one kick here. No easy outs. I agree that the ending was not as strong as the rest of the film but the content that precedes the end makes up for it.

I am now 2 for 2 as far as the After dark movies go.. I like this one..although, the end SUCKED.. I also have to wonder... Why would a psychiatrist plan a trip through a snowy moutain with a car phobic accident survivor without checking her spare tire????
