Not the best animation movie I've watched, but above average, I suppose. Very realistic visual effects.

Totally unexpected. This is pretty cute and funny. By funny I mean to say downright hilarious at times and the jokes work extremely well in here. My favourite thing about this has to be all all those great one liners and cool references. This movie is filled with references. Hell I even caught a glimpse of a reference to motivators. While the film I think has a slight hidden message regarding faith and relegion, it's good that it never get's preachy.

    I'm impressed.

Great film! It manages to stretch out the book's plot to feautre without altering the story too much or making it feel to "obvious." Out of the three Seuss movies made so far, this is by far the most accurate. A second look at the book shows that even many of the background characters were actually taken straight from the book illustrations.

Fortunately, Horton didn't act too crazy as one may assume from the commercials. He was silly, but not...InSanE. And the fim was BEAUTIFUL! Fantastic cartoony animation, great color choices, creative designs and the 2-D animated scenes were great. My only real complaint is the end, which is okay, but very out of place.

A must-see for anyone who loves animation or a fun time at the movies.....and Yeah, a good movie for kids too.

"There's a tiny person on that speck that needs my help!"

It's delightful to believe that one of Dr. Seuss' novels has finally been successfully made into a movie. After the atrocious Cat in the Hat I was unenthusiastic to approach another movie adaptation of a Seuss novel. I am happy to report that Horton Hears a Who! is a fantastic, entertaining movie that is guaranteed to provide entertainment for the whole family.

Horton (voiced by Jim Carrey) is an elephant enjoying life in the Jungle of Nool. One morning while Horton is having his bath, he becomes convinced that he is hearing tiny voices coming from a microscopic speck of dust. Horton is confident that there is an infinitesimal world living inside that speck of dust and vows to protect the small community from the harsh jungle that surrounds them. The animals around him believe that Horton is going insane as they can't hear these supposed voices. But of course Horton is in fact right: in that speck of dust lies the town of Whoville. But it becomes apparent that the entire population is vulnerable to destruction with Horton being their only hope. As the disaster is about to strike, Horton sets off on a journey to find a safe place for the town of Whoville.

Horton Hears a Who! is animation at its best. Like all films from companies like Pixar and Dreamworks we have come to expect nothing but computer generated animation of the highest order. Here we have superb looking animals, realistic terrains and inventive cinematography. All the images are bright and colourful. It's all extremely eye-catching and fun to watch.

This sublime animation is accompanied by the accomplished voice cast. Jim Carrey isn't as overzealous as he usually is. Being an animation film his over-the-top antics wouldn't be as powerful. He still puts on a number of peculiar, wacky voices throughout the film. I thought that Carrey did as exceptional job. Steve Carell is another actor famous for overacting and being silly. Here, he is restricted to more childish humour but he is still given quality lines of dialogue to work with.

Horton Hears a Who! also contains a fairly decent screenplay. Throughout the movie there are a number of great laughs, funny lines and amusing situations. I will admit that the laughs weren't always first-rate. There is no abundance of great laughs unfortunately. Even after saying that, I will also admit that I found some of the gags quite hilarious. The kids will definitely appreciate the over-the-top mannerisms of some of the animals. For their age range they just need pretty pictures to look at to ensure they don't get bored. I can assure you that the kids won't get bored.

I liked the whole style of the film. The Dr. Seuss nature of the film is retained; there's rhyming narration, enlightening characters and a kid-friendly atmosphere. I cannot judge how faithful the film is to its source material because I haven't read the book for several years. From what I remember the filmmakers made a harmonious transition from book to film.

Horton Hears a Who! is simple family entertainment. It's corny, predictable and clichéd; however at least it's a fun film that guarantees the interest of a young child for its duration. It succeeds in getting its target audience interested while also inserting laughs that ensure an adult (or teen) will have a suitably fun time as well.

    A cute family movie.

There were some very strange (and possibly deranged) characters (like Katy!) that made this movie an interesting watch.

There were some very funny "only in animation" moments and just generally this movie was very clever, very funny and i think that kids will understand most of it.

My only niggle is that some of the scenes just dragged out too long, i don't know if they were trying for more time or they just didn't know when enough is enough for a scene.

This is a really great adaptation of Dr. Seuss´ beloved book. The cast was well-chosen: Carrey is as simpatico as ever and Steve Carrell is especially winning as Whoville´s conflicted mayor. Carol Burnett is also evilly wonderful as the villainous kangaroo, and JoJo is sweet, too!

One suggestion for you if you wanted to see this movie, don't think too much and just enjoy the slapstick comedy, the Jim Carrey way.

Horton, the naive "believe that there's good in every creature", heard a faint screaming sound from a speck (yes, you read it right, a speck) when he bathe in a pond. He thought it was only his imgination, but everytime the speck flew passed him, he heard the very same faint scream. The story continued with a mission to save this speck that turned out to be the world of the Who's. The Who-ville mayor, tried his hard to warned the Who-ville citizens that their world may ended, but the Whos never faced anything wrong with their world and prefer to believe that their Mayor is losing his mind. And of course, this movie ended with a happy ending.

The moral of the movie itself is quite good. That we're not the biggest force in the universe. That there are greater things beyond our knowledge and common sense. But Men-In-Black II could point this issue better than this movie.

Anyway, regardless of the minus sides of this movie, I still have a good laugh.

I don't want to say it was just another generic animation movie by Pixar, because it pretty much was. I mean, there was the usual creative dialogue and script, but nothing too new and exciting

The quality of the animation deserved a better story and a few more funny moments wouldn't hurt either.
Overall, this movie isn't a total failure but it sure got me disapointed.

After watching this film. This is one of the best animated films that I have ever watched. The plot is one that everyone can imagine in their heads. It is a typical family animated film. I love this film aswell because I think it is absolutely hilarious. My favourite scene of the film has to be the scene when Horton is crossing the bridge. I like this more than both the Ice Age films. There is alot of clever jokes and humour in this film. I knew this film would be good but I didnt think it would be amazing. In the film the characters are very clever. They all have different personalities. The voice cast is brilliant in this film. Jim Carrey and Steve Carell are awesome! In the Whoville land in the spec, the houses, technology and town would be a typical Tim Burton animated film because this is the sort of film that Tim would imagine and use to make a film. But most of all I loved the animated graphics of this film. Which is why I loved Ratatouille and Nightmare Before Christmas. This is my 7th favourite animated movie of all time.

The first animated Dr. Seuss film, of course it's good! Great voice cast, and very colorful and pretty, but the part where it made fun of anime was out of place and very pointless.

A priceless, perfect, precious animation about an elephant on a quest to save a spec on which the city of Whoville lays. Countless laughs and a truly lovely moral of courage and equality.
