This is a really great adaptation of Dr. Seuss´ beloved book. The cast was well-chosen: Carrey is as simpatico as ever and Steve Carrell is especially winning as Whoville´s conflicted mayor. Carol Burnett is also evilly wonderful as the villainous kangaroo, and JoJo is sweet, too!
Great voice actors, great animation (check out the water, it looks totally real!), great jokes, just a very funny little thing. Not just for kids.
"I just love the smell of bananas in the morning!"
One suggestion for you if you wanted to see this movie, don't think too much and just enjoy the slapstick comedy, the Jim Carrey way.
Horton, the naive "believe that there's good in every creature", heard a faint screaming sound from a speck (yes, you read it right, a speck) when he bathe in a pond. He thought it was only his imgination, but everytime the speck flew passed him, he heard the very same faint scream. The story continued with a mission to save this speck that turned out to be the world of the Who's. The Who-ville mayor, tried his hard to warned the Who-ville citizens that their world may ended, but the Whos never faced anything wrong with their world and prefer to believe that their Mayor is losing his mind. And of course, this movie ended with a happy ending.
The moral of the movie itself is quite good. That we're not the biggest force in the universe. That there are greater things beyond our knowledge and common sense. But Men-In-Black II could point this issue better than this movie.
Anyway, regardless of the minus sides of this movie, I still have a good laugh.
I don't want to say it was just another generic animation movie by Pixar, because it pretty much was. I mean, there was the usual creative dialogue and script, but nothing too new and exciting
The quality of the animation deserved a better story and a few more funny moments wouldn't hurt either.
Overall, this movie isn't a total failure but it sure got me disapointed.
A priceless, perfect, precious animation about an elephant on a quest to save a spec on which the city of Whoville lays. Countless laughs and a truly lovely moral of courage and equality.
While this movie is perfect for small children adults will enjoy it as well. As I sat and watched it I was able to discover a few religious overtones with no real defined ending in that respect. The movie its self however is very well done and I would recommend watching this one with your little one on the silver screen
You should take your kids to watch this some day it is really funny and the kids will love it I should know I took the kids to go and watch and they loved it I have never seen them laugh so much man BIG UP'S TO JIM CARREY for being such a funny guy man
Not really my type of movie. Some well know voices but a great movie for the family. For mad horror fans like myself this kind of thing gets old and I just want blood and guts.
A very interesting kids film, much better than the Grinch - mainly for the awesome anime segment. The voice casting was perfect and the animation top notch.
this movie is the shisnit i luv this movie when ever i was watching this movie i was chocking on the popcorn cause i was laughing so much if i could rate this movie from 1-10 i would give it a 10 no dought
