The quality of the animation deserved a better story and a few more funny moments wouldn't hurt either.
Overall, this movie isn't a total failure but it sure got me disapointed.
A priceless, perfect, precious animation about an elephant on a quest to save a spec on which the city of Whoville lays. Countless laughs and a truly lovely moral of courage and equality.
While this movie is perfect for small children adults will enjoy it as well. As I sat and watched it I was able to discover a few religious overtones with no real defined ending in that respect. The movie its self however is very well done and I would recommend watching this one with your little one on the silver screen
You should take your kids to watch this some day it is really funny and the kids will love it I should know I took the kids to go and watch and they loved it I have never seen them laugh so much man BIG UP'S TO JIM CARREY for being such a funny guy man
Not really my type of movie. Some well know voices but a great movie for the family. For mad horror fans like myself this kind of thing gets old and I just want blood and guts.
A very interesting kids film, much better than the Grinch - mainly for the awesome anime segment. The voice casting was perfect and the animation top notch.
this movie is the shisnit i luv this movie when ever i was watching this movie i was chocking on the popcorn cause i was laughing so much if i could rate this movie from 1-10 i would give it a 10 no dought
What a surprise indeed! After a barrage of CGI films you would expect children to grow very tired however this Dr Seuss adaptation hits the right spot for kids and adults (and teenagers!) alike.
Kids will giggle and laugh out loud at the hilarious voice work and cartoonish behaviour of Jim Carrey's Horton and -wonderful job done- Steve Carrell's Mayor of Whoville. Nice to see Carrey and Carrell together again. (Listen carefully for a familiar sound from the Mayor early on in the film).
Horton manages to tell Seuss's story with quirkiness that doesn't scare the children or end up turning too strange. There are some ridiculously
Super cute and Sage loved it. Some parts were a little on the scary/violent side to warrant a "G" rating, though... might want to watch before letting kids watch to be sure.
The trailer had me roflmao-ing, and thankfully, the entire movie did too. Animation was awesome, and I'd say Dreamworks managed to preserve the Seuss soul in the story with direct rhyme quotes and 3D transformation of all the characters. My favorite part is when Horton examines the clover-with-the-speck a little too closely so that he has to blink out clover fluffs from his eye. Not sure why this really got me but I couldn't stop rofling. And of course, I teared up at the end when the Whos were trying to valiantly to be heard by Horton's world. So touching to hear the less musically talented pitch in their out-of-tune attempts on random horns.
