as an old Cusack fan i was suitably entertained. 'Mr Determined' chasing his 80'2 girl around the Caribbean. Funny in parts with good turn from Robert Loggia - esp the storm scene (stolen by Sinese in Forest Gump I reckon), and all went a bit mad in the end as Cusack saves family from evil nerd deckhand (a young Ben Stiller). Even a young Richard Crenna as the father - auditioning for his role in Rambo movies for sure). Pretty good in parts but 80's bad in many ways.
This movie was pretty good. I think that it could have been better, but it did have a little bit of everything..action, adventure, romance..and it was pretty funny to boot.
Harmless and forgettable early Cusack vehicle that was unmistakably eighties right through to Level 42 playing over the end credits.
A typical early Cusack rom-com that somehow turns into Die Hard Lite by the end of the film. A perfectly good performance from JC aided by a few decent laughs and some eccentric support performances from Robert Loggia and Keith David. Not a great film but watchable.
I didn't see the whole thing, but from what I could tell, it seemed a little slow to start...maybe I'll rent it and watch the whoel thing.
