Although it is campy, melodramatic, and drags in the middle; it is a very well directed and photographed suspense vehicle for the deliciously hyperbolic Bette Davis.

Saw May 29, 2009. Startled the hell out of me, just as good as Gaslight. Could not get Olivia de Haviland slapping Bette Davis image out of my mind for weeks!

One of my all time favorite Bette Davis films ever! Bette Davis is the Jack Nicholson of crazy women roles! I love the plot and pretty much everything about this movie! Charlotte Hollis was a perfect character for Bette Davis to play and I love the part when she goes out on her l...( read more)awn with the shotgun telling the people to get off her land. I wonder if Gran Torino got the idea from this movie. This movie can be a bit predictable in some scenes but it will keep you pretty excited up until the very end. I still don't really get why Harry Wills was in the movie. Did he really come all the way from London just to talk to Charlotte because she was a mystery and he liked mysteries? My favorite character next to Charlotte had be Velma because it was so funny when she start mocking people right after they turned their back. A great movie for anyone to see, not too scary.

Intriguing, at times scary. It was fun to see some of my favorite stars as they got older, however, Bette practically plays the same character she did in Baby Jane. What's the deal, Bette?

Another great Bette Davis films. I always felt for Charlotte because of the mental anguish that she went through out the whole film.
