Critic Reviews

  • Dennis Harvey, Variety

Husk lacks much originality but serves up its combo plate of genre tropes with above-average flair and intensity on modest means.

  • Don Groves, sbs.com.au

Quite possibly the silliest movie set in a cornfield since preacher/farmer Mel Gibson got spooked by strange events in M. Night Shyamalan's Signs, After Dark Films' Husk is an exceedingly tame entry in the killer scarecrow sub-genre.

  • Scott Weinberg, FEARnet

Not terrible, but the 27-minute version was better.

  • Jeremy Heilman, MovieMartyr.com

Suspense is valued here over gore, and it must be noted that the brief final scene manages to be genuinely eerie.

  • R. L. Shaffer, IGN DVD

Runs through all the same cliches, but Husk has it's interesting twists and turns, and plenty of atmosphere.

Husk would be a lot better if the plot wasn't so forced. Husk is about a group of kids who get in a car accident in the middle of nowhere in a corn field. The kids first of all are very dumb. I'm not sure what possessed them to do any of the idiotic things they did. It… More

Decent but nothing exciting. No surprises to be had, but some potent violence here and there.

A very good horror film involving a killer scarecrow. That should explain the most of it, but it's still one of the best killer scarecrow flicks out there.
