October 31, 2007This could be a remake, an adaptation, or a steaming pile of let-down. But! Atleast itll be interesting to see how they screw up, if they do. If not it should be an awesome movie. Im willing to bet it'll be good, Will Smith rarely chooses bad scripts.

July 13, 2007Do not go into this thinking that it is going to be a faithful adaptation of the book of the same name. It will not be.
Instead, this is going to be an update of Heston's The Omega Man, and I am ok with that. I love The Omega Man, and I am hoping that this one will be as great.
If you want something a little closer to the book, check out Last Man On Earth starring Vincent Price. While Matheson doesn't like this version either, imo it is closer to the book than any other version of the film.
As a matter of fact, Richard Matheson thinks that George Romero's Night Of The Living Dead is closer to the book version of I Am Legend than anything else.
Romero denies stealing "Legend", but that doesn't surprise me. I think Romero is an assclown. I met him at a comic show once and he wanted $25 for a signature on a comic book. No thanks douche!
Romero isn't a clever as everyone thinks he is. It seems that Richard Matheson is the true father of zombie horror. -
June 29, 2007Having read the novel and seeing that trailer, I cannot help but be optimistic. Amusingly, I was surprised to see someone made a film of that book, but then realised that this was not the first time...
If they do it justice, there will be some interesting new nightmares... -
