The movie isnt spooky unless you are young and it is (jump out at you out at you scary) when it is loud and suround sound but it is still an exelent movie but you cant watch it over and over again unless you have brakes inbetween
This is an impressive movie to say the least. Will Smith is a scientist/soldier in New York City who is the last known survivor after a man made virus wipes out everyone else. The virus designed to cure cancer actually turns it victims into daylight fearing raging zombies. It's up to Will to try to find a virus. I just saw this film on opening day and it was jam packed. The opening scene gets the ball rolling when the announcement is made about the cure. Flash forward three years later and New York is one big deserted island with Will cruising the streets in any vehicle he chooses. Scavenging for food and supplies during the day and holed up in his fotress of a building at night when the creatures come out looking for blood. Will's only companion at first is his loyal german shepherd named Samantha. They make quite the team. You begin to really care what happens to them. Later on two more immune survivors pop up- a young woman and a small boy. This movie is amazing. The desolation scenes of the city have to be seen to be believed. The action sequences are equally impressive. The only drawback may be the creatures themselves. A little too CG at times but still creepy as hell. I have to say Mr. Smith gives one helluva perfomance here. It will remind you of what Tom Hanks did in Cast Away. Will is dramatic, frightened, humorous, and sometimes a little crazy. One of the best films of the year. Plus they showed the kick ass new Batman trailer right before the movie. It's win win all the way around. Oh, one more thing some people may argue it's not long enough. Let me tell you something, you couldn't ask for a better length in a movie. Any longer and you may start to get restless. One hour and 40 minutes is perfect to me.
OMG! I really loved this movie. It was so sad and so great all at the same time i really love Will Smith and he really brought his whole power into this movie!
For the majority of this movie, Will Smith and his dog are playing this on mostly alone as a sole survivor of a plague that takes out 99% of the earth's population. It however leaves some creatures that Smith is trying hard to keep away from. Can he beat them? See for yourself.
Will Smith can play up into a actor, who knew he can be a well rounded character to the fullest to make a flick more pactful in a dense surrounding (in a different way to approuch a drama)
The beginning reminded me of a video game a long normal cut scene and boom... people trying to kill you. It hought the beginning the justly it showed a realistic way of how the world can become but the special effects were alittle lame and made the movie set back at times. It might of showed weird flaws of him talking to maniquins but mainly it was a one person shot most of the time and it got boring at times.. empty holes.
On a finer note, it did seem like the future what would happen movies. action pacted full of realistic of the roads of NYC. Will Smith did awesome he showed more emotion to make the film more enjoyable.. I did think which almost ruined it was the butterfly/god theory.. It just was thrown in there and It was really stupid. Oh yeah and 28 days later anyone O.o
I thought this movie was great.Will Smith Was the perfect actor for this role and he showed that from start to finish.The stroyline starting with him and his dog had you on the edge of your sit through the whole film.With flashbacks throughout it showing you the history behinds his presents.Although it ended with a great big bang and he became the hero i belive it ended a little strangely, but it left with a great feeling of accomplishment after the film had ended.
Smith is a good actor, but he can't carry this movie by himself. The storyline was weak and didn't make any sense. The special effects were awful. At least the music (Bob Marley) was good!
Best thriller I've seen in a while. Will Smith this was your best yet. Awesome (nearly) one man show (and ahhhh the DOG in this). NYC gone amuck (again) but the images and story are thrilling...I was on the edge of my seat through the entire film and the sort of zombie-fied "Night-Seekers" that used to be humans are totally terrifying. I was either crying or jumping out of my seat through the whole movie. Great fun & Will Smith looking fine fine FINE. His young (real life) daughter in this is just adorable and very good for so young and such a traumatic scene she had to play. Talented fam - and great movie
A better than average movie but I don't think It is one of the best horror/action movies I have ever seen. There is no doubt that will Smith was very good but his acting could not make the movie great!
One of the best movies I've ever seen in awhile~ I cried four times and I was on the edge of my seat.
Vampires were pretty good... One thing I think could have made it better: they could have showed the gradual process of humans turning into vampires in a flash back during a testing session...
well he thinks him n hiz dog iz da onlyppl left in newyork city but after awhile hiz dog died n he wanted revenge on da effected ppl n while he waz doin dat he hade found a cure den diz gurl help him from diein den he sen her n diz little boy on 2 get free n den he blowed up hisself n does things.
I thought that it was a better movie. I don?t think that the end tells much about the virus. Although is very emotional and sentimental, I liked that part.
