But it was way worse then I had thought. I can't stand many films like these but there was nothing else on. I actually blame my mother for making me sit through this one. It was... just bad. There were a couple moments I laughed. But the movie was annoying, the character's are annoying, the plot is annoying. SO, if you haven't caught on, I didn't like it. But those of you who like mushy, cheesy, and corny films will love it. Those of you like myself, I advise you to skip it and save yourselves the torture."

  Genevieve has always had the love life she wanted. She goes out with a guy & only goes out with him for five dates. Five dates of flirting, having fun, & making romantic gestures. Everything changes when she meets Greg. Who believes that one person is meant for the other person, while Genevieve does not believe in that logic. They go through their five dates & at the end Genevieve realizes that she doesn't want it to be over but she wants to continue dating Greg. Greg wants this too but the two of them just won't admit their feelings to each other. Genevieve's wacky friends do whatever they can to put these two back together with results that just seem to fail. When Valentine's Day rolls around again though Greg shows Genevieve what scares her & plays Jazz music, which Genevieve hates outside, in front of her apartment. He even has everyone form into a heart & he tells Genevieve he loves her & she says she loves him too. Then he asks Genevieve to be his Valentine & she agree's to be his girlfriend. This was a great reunion for Vardalos & Corbett who showed great chemistry in My Big Fat Greek Wedding & again in this romantic charmer.

  Okay but overly silly rom com. For a film with such a short running time it seems to take a long time to get where it's going and the supporting cast of supposedly quirky characters are never fleshed out enough to make them endearing just weird.

  The most positive thing I can say is that Nia Vardalos is so psychotically smiley, (and, as someone else has noted in their review - corny. Yes, that's the perfect word for her acting and the character), in this that it made me forget how much John Corbett annoys me. He actually didn't bother me in this one. Compared to her, he was even good.The story is totally predictable, and honestly, I just couldn't care less by the time they got together. I never for one moment forgot that this was a movie - it never rang true at any point.

  I Hate Valentine's Day is a movie about a lonely woman falls in love on the day she dreads the most and experiences all the elements of a relationship, from chance meeting through divorce, within the space of a single February 14th. What can I say, if the movie's name is I Hate Valentine's Day, well I hate I hate Valentine's Day. This is by far the corniest movie I ever seen in my life. Maybe women will enjoy all the chessy situations the leading character has and experience throughout the movie, but men like me will get bored from the very first minute of the movie. It is supposed to be a romantic comedy but there was no humor at any moment. Nia Vardalos has the leading role, I don't what but she has something in her personality that really annoys me,besides that her character is already annoying too. John Corbett dod a decent job. In conclusion, I Hate Valentine's Day was a completely wast of time and money. A movie not worthy to see and if you still want to, well you better wait for it on dvd.

  Sweet romantic-comedy with the re-united two stars from <i>My Big Fat Greek Wedding</i>. Despite the fact that it follows the usual formulaic plot, it is still a pleasant and joyful film to watch. The leading lady being a florist helps enhance the romantic mood, leaving viewers with room to imagine how romantic she can be. Nia Vardalos is great, as are the supporting cast as well as John Corbett is okay.

  Vardalos needs to do a film that has a good screenplay. The film feels like a flat sitcom. On the positive, Vardalos and Corbett shine in the film and have a great on screen chemistry. The film needed a rewrite. I thought this was better than Connie and Carla. However, I thought My Life In Ruins was a little better than this film. Despite all of these misfires, I still believe Vardalos will do a film as good as My Big Fat Greek Wedding. The big question is, when will that happen.

  Cute romantic comedy. I love Nia & John from my big fat greek wedding. Nia is a little too anal about Valentines Day in this movie though. lol Got a little annoying since Valentines day is just a regular day to me....
