  Ice Age 3 is not the best in the series, that is still the original, but for what it was this movie wasn't very bad.

Much better than Ice Age 2 but that's mainly down to the introduction of Simon Pegg's Buck and of course the continued adventures of Scrat. I see Ice Age 4 is on its way, why they haven't just made a Scrat spin-off film instead is beyond me though as without him it would be below average.

Unlike the first one it overdoe it with slapstick but there is a more energetic jolt from the voice cast this time round that help make this film better for the kids and more watchable for adults. Particularly Simon Pegg.

If you like the others you'll like this one just as much. If you want to watch a great dinosaur movie made in to a billion sequels, Land Before Time is awesome.. the sequels are not.

I also enjoyed the story in the story, that being Scrat's love triangle. It was cute and funny. A great animated film I'm sure everyone in the family will enjoy."

  Another great Ice age film with plenty of new characters. Just as good as the first two films and I liked it slightly more than the second. Great to see some dinosaur characters. Plenty of funny moments and great detailed animation work.

  "Why is it called the Gorge of Death? - We tried calling it The Big Smelly Crack but people kept giggling." 'Ice Age: The Meltdown' is one of the most successful animations (or movies for that matter) ever made. The critic it got wasn't nearly as good as with the first one, which can, at this point, be called a classic. So why not make a third installment to the franchise as it is obvious that animations have rarely failed during the last ten years. The production of 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs' began much faster than with the second one. It hit the theatres in the summer of 2009 and continued the success of the films. In the previous 'Ice Age' movie, Manny met Ellie and their relationship has lead to her being pregnant. Manny is obsessed on making everything safe for the family whilst Sid is yearning for a family of his own. One day, Sid finds three abandoned eggs and starts to take care of 'em. He names them humourously as Eggbert, Shelly and Yoko. Little did he now that they're dinosaur eggs. The mother of the hatched baby dinosaurs, returns and takes the baby dinos and Sid underground, where there lies an enormous jungle populated by dinosaurs and other reptiles which were thought to be extinct. Manny, Diego and Ellie go on a rescue mission to get their friend back. All kinds of dangers lie ahead... New characters are introduced, mainly the one-eyed weasel called Buck, played by Simon Pegg. Because the main scenery for the movie is a jungle, it's obvious that the filmmakers have had to make a loose copy of Indiana Jones, or something like that. Scrat, the awesome sabretooth squirrel has found a target of interest of his own in a female squirrel. Like in the earlier films, this sequel also has an important subplot for Scrat's own adventures. Does the acorns still win his affection or can the enchanting female squirrel be the one and only? I don't know. At times, the movie feels very entertaining but I had some troubles to fully enjoy it. There is a distinct theme in the movie of friendship but if we put aside the themes and all, it feels as if the filmmakers were empty on ideas. I know the film is placed in an era of the ice age but the era is not of importance anymore. They've shown us the ice age in the first movie, a global warming in the sequel and now the idea is to show us, or so we thought, an extincted species and mix the two eras together. I know that the era is not the main part of the movie but the characters, but I think that the story is the weakest part of 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs'. This film is clearly for the kids and it has it hilarious moments but for me, I found it hard to understand why Manny would endanger the life of his pregnant partner? I know, it's stupid to even bring up this fact but what can you do? If something bothers you, it simply stays so. In overall, 'Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs' is a nice addition to the franchise but I hope that the filmmakers have come up with greater ideas for the fourth film, 'Ice Age: The Continental Drift', that is coming out in 2012. I'm pretty sure that there's ice nowhere to be seen in that movie anymore...

  Just like the other two, this movie is awesome. Lots of new characters (the baby dinos are TOO cute!!!) and a story that's interesting to follow throughout with laughs along the way. I like the part where Scrat is fighting with the female squirrel over the acorn and the music makes it seem like they're dancing - neat! I hate to see this series end!

  Cliche? Derivitive? Sure, but oddly, I think that was the point here - poking fun at itself while giving you a nice Disneyland thrill ride through "the land that time forgot". I laughed and had a good time with this - more so than its predecessors - and it's only the "drawn in backround with animated animals running around in the foreground" feel that keeps me from perhaps rating this even higher. The newly introduced charactor of The Weasel (and all the accompanying jokes - including "pop goes the")seems like the crazed lemur king from Madagascar, reworked with an Brit accent - but that didn't bother me, nor did the sub plot of Scrat finding a rival for his love of acorn. This all works on a base level, giving kids and adults something to laugh about, so who cares if the main "family/friend values" theme is so obvious - lighten up, sit back and enjoy the ride - at least there isn't the attempt to fill this with "poignant" or excessively happy songs - available at your ipod store - which have become almost standard practice in animated films.

  Dawn of the Dinosaurs is the third movie of the Ice Age series. In this one we follow how's life treats our three main characters, Manny expecting the birth of his first baby with Ellie, Diego feeling frustrated because he has no adventure in his life anymore and Sid thinking that no one cares about him. When Sid finds three dinosaur eggs and take them with him is when the adventure begins. The movie is funny from the beginning till the end, an hour and a half of pure entertainment. The animation as always is excellent , the story is good and the plot very well developed. The cast is excellent. Ray Romano (Manny), Dennis Leary (Diego), John Leguizamo (Sid), Queen Latifah (Ellie), Sean William Scott (Crash) and Josh Peck (Eddie) repeating characters and Simon Pegg as the new character Buck are very good and convincing. In conclusion, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a very entertaining and enjoyable family movie everyone will like.

  Very clichéd, but just as fun and entertaining as the previous installments. The animation and scenery is all top notch as always, and the script surprisingly solid. I can't say I was all that fond of the new character Buck (Simon Pegg needed some better lines), but the old ones remain as charming and endearing as ever. Particularily Sid, who is hilarious in everything he does. If it wasn't for him and his screwball antics, I doubt I'd like this as much as I did. One of the best movies of 2009 so far.
