A colony of genetically modified giant spiders escapes from the lab and only a failed Olympic skier can save the day. Yes, this film really is as ridiculous as it sounds!
A secret Government project to make bullet proof armour out of spiders webs has run out of steam because they can't get enough of the stuff. The obvious solution is to force feed them growth hormones to make them bigger. These giant spiders are now highly evolved, highly intelligent and resistant to the cold which is supposed to keep everyone safe from them.
They attack a ski resort and the ski instructor has to save the rest of the tourists, while at the same time fending off the soldiers and scientists who are trying to keep the spiders alive to do more research.
You know that a film about giant spiders is going to rely quite heavily on CGI but this is among the worst I have seen. There is not a single moment when the spiders looked realistic, they don't even move like real spiders. In fact, if they had claimed that these were robotic spiders it would have seemed slightly more believable as it would have explained the plastic look and jerky movements.
The acting is terrible, Vanessa Williams tries her best with a dubious script but everyone else is straight out of the 'Bill and Ted' school of acting, except they mean it in all seriousness. Although how you can deliver lines like 'Let's go kick some spider butt , dude', seriously is beyond me.
I would say this film is a total waste of time. Unless you have an extreme case of Arachnaphobia, this isn't scary at all. It's not quite ridiculous enough to be meant as a spoof, it's just a joke. The worst thing of all is how they leave it open for a sequel in case this one was a big hit. Not a chance, the nearest this film would get to 'big hit' would be if you added an 's' in there.

PROTIP: The spiders aren't actually made out of ice. They're just spiders in an icy region, which seems like such a waste of potential to me.

As a legitimate movie, this is seriously scraping the bottom of the barrel even for the Sci-Fi channel, but as a hapless target for mockery it does a pretty great job. Vanessa Williams, playing a "smart...and HOT" scientist, has the most bizarre reactions to everything she sees. Half of her scenes end in comedy after she makes some sort of inhuman noise or face. Patrick Muldoon, who thought he was in on the joke, is so blatant in his winking to the audience that it really just becomes annoying. The spiders themselves give the best performances of all, poorly animated to the point of hilarity.

This one is a for-sure stinker, but if your friends are the kind who love to belittle the hopes and dreams of a fledgling filmmaker, these would be 86 minutes well spent.

Ice Spiders + Stephen J. Cannell. You do the math. It says it has Vanessa Williams in it, but I swear the copy I rented had someone else in the role.

A pretty bad movie but what made it fun to watch. The really bad dialog between the lead and everyone else. Muldoon. I couldn't help but like this retarded movie.

I'll give it 2 stars becuase of great music and acting by the starring staff, but the graphic of the spiders sucked so hard for being made in 2007, sorry but it sucked in that way...

This film is proof that Patrick Muldoon is the love child of Bill Paxton and Rob Lowe. Probably the best Sci-Fi channel made-for-television movie I've seen so far, but that's NOT a compliment.
