The potential was there, but it sadly did not live up to it. Still a good fantasy with nice action sequences and even better fight scenes, but the acting is it's downfall. Fun to watch.

Considering I've heard of Uwe Boll's bad reputation I really enjoyed this film. At first it was going steady and seemed like an average adventure movie. However gradually throughout it gets better, with a number of good actors and amazing battle sequences. I especially enjoyed the big battle sequence in the woods somewhere 2/3rds into the movie.
The story was pretty good, though not too unique, but the little twist in the middle of the film was a good addition.
Jason Statham acts his usual self here, present in most of the action scenes and fighting and killing anyone on his way. Also enjoyed that Kristanna Loken played a small role here, didn't expect that at all.
Also loved the music score in this film. Definitely a beautiful music, though there were a couple of the scenes where the music didn't suit them.
Overall a nice fantasy adventure film with plenty of good actors, amazing action scenes and a not bad storyline. I definitely prefer it to Lord of the Rings films.

it's dumb - fell asleep and i usually really enjoy jason Statham but his cockney accent just didn't go with his character at all!! Weird.

This was quite an interesting movie. Good story plot. All-around good cast. Ray Liotta once again prevails, as a villian. It's great to see John Rhys-Davies in an adventurous movie such as this.

Time killer. Nothing interesting. Bored on a Saturday night, and that's how this movie got viewed, on DVD.

al igual que muchas adaptaciones de videojuegos.. decepcionante. ninguna actuación convence y ni siquiera la belleza de forlani/sobieski logran elevar el ritmo cardíaco de tan guatiao filme.

Big disappointment. A lot of long overdone fight sequences, some really bad acting, bad simple writing...just bad all around. I expected a lot better.

Nice over-all cinematic effects, especially during the battle scenes but the plot was quite predictable and narrative suffered probably because of poor scene choices. If you haven't seen this, you didn't miss anything!

Dungeon Siege, the video game, is great. This movie, however, was not. Although there were a couple of decent scenes/fight sequences, the movie did not work. Everything seemed forced and out of place. Ray Liotta, Jason Statham, Leelee Sobieski, Burt Reynolds, Matthew Lillard? What? I would like to know who thought it was a good idea to cast Shaggy and then have him butcher a fake accent. Watching this movie was like having to sit through Dungeons & Dragons again; except that D&D was so bad that it made me laugh. There was no laughter to be heard here. At all.

Just bad, when I start feeling sorry for a film that is never a good sign. I feel so bad for all the people who worked on the film. Bad acting all the way, every single person, with the exception of John Rhys-Davies, who is okay. It felt like they knew they were making a horrible film and decided not to even try.

I thought this movie had a Lord of the Rings plot line with Power Rangers action sequences. It's an okay movie, but don't waste your money on it.

I'm going to be completely honest here. I LOVE the science fiction & fantasy genre and even with all the negativity surrounding this film, as well as Toilet Boll himself, I didn't think it was possible for me to give a film of this genre a half star. Well I just did. This film is that bad.

Let's see, where to start? The all-star cast. Anywhere else this cast is all-star, but not here. Toilet Boll finds a way to make the acting look like s***. Not even the beautiful Kristanna Loken, Claire Forlani, AND Leelee Sobieski come close to bringing this film out of the dung filled hole that it is in. Jason Statham is his usual self, which is nothing special. Claire Forlani is a joke and so is Leelee Sobieski. Burt Reynolds. I read in a friend's review about how somebody always laughs when Burt Reynolds appears on screen. Guess what? I did the same thing. Ray Liotta is great in Cop Land. He is lame in here. Matthew Lillard is just ridiculous. What the hell? Kristanna Loken is OK except she doesn't do anything big the entire film. I do like Ron Perlman, but his character is stupid. The same can be said of John Rhys-Davies. There you have it. The all-star cast.

This movie, if you can call it that, is 2 hours long, but it feels like an eternity. There is never any flow to the film. Toilet Boll's editing is awful. It feels like scenes are randomly put together as if he is trying to put together a puzzle. It also feels like scenes are cut short. Maybe that is why there is NO GOOD character development. NONE of the deaths in this film are sad and dramatic. The HUGE twist in this film comes out as NO surprise. It sounds just like casual dialogue. Speaking of dialogue, it sounds like it is from the wrong time period. Not to mention that the epic sounding music goes on and on and on. It gets irritating about 20 minutes in.

When it comes to sci-fi/fantasy, anything goes as far as creatures and characters are concerned. Yet again, Toilet Boll somehow finds a way to make ninjas feel out of place. The Krugs, AKA orc ripoffs, are easily passable as guys in suits. Just ridiculous. The only thing decent are Kristanna Loken and the tree people, who don't do much at all.

In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale is a huge disgrace to one of my favorite genres. I will recommend this film to NO ONE. Not even to people I hate.

A movie with good special effects and thats about it. A very predictable movie with very bad dialogue and a bad choice of actors, such as Burt Reynolds and Matthew Lillard, two actors who usually play in some kind of comedy.

What an AMAZING story line. Kinda like Eragon, but sooo not at the same time.... almost like a story about Arthur and the Round Table..

An unspeakably evil army rampages across what was an idyllic, peaceful world, destroying everything in its path, looking to conquer the mighty Castle Ehb and vanquish the King himself! Amidst this backdrop of war in the Kingdom of Ehb, between the evil Magus Gallian and the ruling King Konreid, A once simple family man named Farmer sets out to find his kidnapped wife, Solana and avenge the death of his son after the village of stoneridge is attacked by bloodthirsty Krugs. A plodding patchwork of derivative fantasy-adventure, medieval production design, risible dialogue, yet impressive CGI trickery and unedited action sequences. Cultists will be happy to discover that In The Name Of The King bears all the so-bad-it's-good hallmarks of a classic Uwe Boll production. Starring Jason Statham, Leelee Sobieski, John Rhys-Davies, Ray Liotta, Matthew Lillard, Burt Reynolds, Will Sanderson, Ron Perlman, Claire Forlani, Brian J. White, Kristanna Loken and Gabrielle Rose.

This movie kind of reminded me of other such films like LOTR and Eragon.
But I liked it none the less. A village is attacked by orc like creatures that are called crugs and a simple farmer played by Jason Stratham if forced to take up arms against them and the master that is behind it after his wife is taken captive and his son is brutally slain he goes after the monsters only to find that an evil sorceror played by ray Liotta is the man behind it all.

Very imaginative and well produced. With the small budget, the director has done very well. An all-star cast with good performances and great action. The only down side is the movie drags on towards the end, but overall a good movie.

In my opinion, better than beowolf. First, because they used real people and settings, adding to it's credibility. Secondly, because it had a lot more plot and depth to it. A very good movie.

Ahhhh...in the times of knights and chivalry...may the days of Beowulf and the stories of those times never end....Question authority and take a chance that you never see coming in taking over the kingdom...See it!
