A ruich guy, Redford, plays a sleazy guy who intends to pay a married man a million bucks to shack up with his wife. This movie was really, really stupid. Only in the homs shallow dystopian middle American crappy marriage would a husband ever do this to his wife, and the end result is stupid too.

I was reading the synopsis for this film when I realised i'd already seen late one night when there was nothing else on and I remember how rubbish I thought it was. The plot had potential and with the cast you'd have thought it would have been good but it really isn't. It's a bit of a mess and I swear i'd already seen a film just like it with the same concept. The performances aren't bad but they could have been better as I have seen better from all the actors involved. I wouldn't recommend this film as it was just a huge let down.

Quote" I thought we were invincible, but I know that the things people in love do to each other they remember. If they stay together, it's not because they forget. It's because they forgive"

Mr. Thornton was in this one? Well it wasn't too bad, but why all the drama after the sex for cash part? The story should have ended right there, right? Happy ending/no, I don't think my wife is a skank now can we please get on with our rich lives? Yeah.

Robert Redford, John Barry score, Demi Moore trying to sex up movies from the early to mid-90's with limited acting talent.

It sounds like a lot of sex ... and, pretty much nothing else. Plus, or shall I say, also, it's sex with (yuck) Woody Harrelson.

Why this film was made, I'll never know. Although Harrelson displays talent skies above the rest of the cast, that doesn't begin to compensate for one of the poorest scripts ever put to screen. There is something in the idea that perhaps could have been worked into at least a watchable film, but instead we have to suffer the soppy drama as it is. What's even worse? The film doesn't even make sense, and the development of Moore's character is completely illogical and incomprehensible. Never again...

This was a pretty good movie. I would have liked it a lot better if I didn't have to analyze it to the core.

Indecent Proposal came out in 1993 and stars Demi Moore, Woody Harrelson who are a married couple needing money to buy and build their dream home. They go to Las Vegas to try and win money, and meet billionaire Robert Redford who offers one million dollars to spend the night with Demi Moore. When this movie came out, there was a lot of hype and did not think this movie lived up to its reputation. What really ruined it for me was the ending....This movie is totally unbelievable. Oliver Platt plays the couple's lawyer and was the one highlight for me as I have always enjoyed his acting.

Uuggh!!! ... it hurts for the wife's ego to know that her husband would allow her to accept an indecent proposal like this. However, I like the ending ... and Julia's legs are endlessly long ... lol

This was actually a pretty good movie. I think what would have made it better if they shortened the movie a little beacuse it seemed to drag in some places. But great acting all around the board.

It is weird how some actors are just meant to be in bad, it?s like they can never make a decent picture. Like for Example Demi Moore who has a really small number of acceptable movies (only one great one which is Ghost). And Indecent Proposal is just another add to her not so distinguished filmographie which of course won?t live after her time or at any time what so ever.

The movie is about a couple (Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson) who is facing a lot of financial troubles due to the husband?s failure at his work as an architect. So one night they go to Las Vegas to take a chance on gambling, they win a lot the first night which is enough to pay some of their debts but they lose everything the next. And there they meet Robert Redford who is a billionaire and then comes the indecent Proposal. One night with Demi Moore for 1 million dollars. The movie has won worst picture and screenplay; I didn?t actually see that at the beginning of the movie coz it was actually a bit good. It followed a certain line although it was filled with clichés but still was interesting. But then when we get to the indecent proposal all that follows was dull, boring and stupid with many contradictions and writing flaws.

What should have been the highlight of the movie and the point of attraction was what happens between Redford and Moore when he takes her to complete what the indecent proposal proposed. But then the movie will leave you disappointed coz you won?t know what happened there. Not even a glimpse. Adrian Lyne did a very bad job as a director here. The movie lacked mood and atmosphere in most of its scenes. There was no accent on any emotions the characters were going through. We just see them passing through situations but do we go through them too? Nope not in this movie. Although the movie had the privilege of a score written by the genius himself John Barry but they didn?t even try to take advantage of it. The score was wonderful and it had John Barry?s sign all over it. Of course it wasn?t his best but it was still up to his name. Probably it was the only good thing about the movie.

The second half of the movie deals with the effect of that night between Redford and Moore on the marriage of Moore and Harrelson. Of course it was filled with sentimental clichés to begin with. And it suffered from a really big deal of bad writing put in the character of Woody Harrelson. All his emotions are unexplained and the character keeps on contradicting itself during the whole thing. And the ending was just pathetic makes you sad because of the fact that you watched the whole so called movie to get to this ending.

Demi Moore was of course nominated for worst actress here, but I really didn?t think it deserved this nomination. Of course she had her moments where she was plain Moore giving the worst she can but for the rest she was just ok. Robert Redford was the leader between the trio with a classy and elegant performance like his character. But I really felt sorry for Woody Harrelson; he made a joke of himself here. His facial expressions resembled to ones of a baby and the way he was acting and reacting was so immature. I couldn?t believe that a grown man was giving such a performance.

What would you do for a million bucks? In the end is it really worth it? I don't think so. But regardless a good movie.

An intriguing plot that was delivered by the book. But, for some reason the movie is not as captivating as it should be.
