This from the Yahoo! movie entertainment site is exactly how I feel about this film. This guy is the exact same age as I and I remember when I went to the theater for the first time to see Raiders of The Lost Ark. Awesome is the only word to describe my feeling at the time.
Here is the review.
Stay Away!!!

I am 41 years old and, as a teenager, I remember the magic of the first Indiana Jones film, watching it in the movie theatre in Des Moines. Iowa -- simply a glorious masterpiece of film work.
I guess it is just hit and miss with making a film. Take two titans of the industry, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas, and see what kind of a steaming pile of crap they can produce (I am talking about this last Indy movie). Jeez Louise, did they even watch the movie before it was released?. No good answer exists for that question. No matter what, they are not going to be able to defend this dog. Stay the hell away from this movie!
I would like to think that these two men (Spielberg and Lucas), both of whom are well on in their careers and rich beyond anyone's dreams, would like to be concerned about integrity and simple self respect. But, no way! Oh man, what a smeller this movie is! It would be difficult, or really not even worth anybody's time, to try to describe in just how many ways this film is pathetic. Because of the legacy behind this film, I went to see it, and I know many others will as well. But, maybe someone will get my message and wait a few years for it to come out on free TV. Then you can know that I am right and it will not have cost you any money, nor time out of your life and the obvious fact that you got suckered (these things are what really upset me about the experience).
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
This film was fantastic. Anyone who say it's not, really needs to grow up and stop comparing it to the original films.
Alas: under-written and over-ridiculous. Ford is still great as Jones but I wanted more about his age and how time passes. Remember the great line from Raiders: "It ain't the years, honey, it's the mileage." Wanted more connection to earlier characters: what happened to Short Round? Indy's father? Sallah? Shia is okay, I guess; Blanchett quite fun; Karen Allen and John Hurt are woefully underused, criminally so. The climax is simply a retread of Raiders. Some fun moments, good FX to be sure, but Crystal Skull solidifies my opinion that of all 4 movies, only Raiders achieves true cinematic greatness.
it's gd to have indi bk on the screen lets hope they make anouther one shame indi's father and macas both died tho would have loved to see them init one more time and y wasn't salah init
I thought this might be of some use to people. If you aren't a moron you might get a kick out of this one.

yea dude, i waz reading the comments on indiana jones 4, ur remarks were wrong dude. i mean, it would have been a good ending with the last crusade but thats not what people wanted. they wanted more indy. you might not know but people believe the mayans, which was involved in the film, were aliens, or had something to do with alens. so they thought outside of the box like instead of getting chased by normal people trying to get the artifacts back, which they kind of did though and they added a little twist. you know itz good, yourwe just a retard who dosent hav any good taste.
jerk,
bob
This is the exact type of moron I was referring to in my last comment. Completely proving my point.
Do you think this lastest movie was a good idea, HELL NO! Should they have left it as a trilogy? YES!!!...
They should have left Indy ride off into the sunset... Just like the most recent Star Wars Movies compared to the originals, This movie compared to the trilogy... IT SUCKS!!!!!
how is this movie better than the third?the third movie is my favourite, evne better than raiders of the lost ark.this isn't a real indiana jones movie to me because they overcomplicated and weirded up the plot and they used cgi.and the idea of a pointless character like ray winstone's has no meaning whatsoever.as an action movie its ok but it is no classic like the old movies.even temple of doom is better.it had some memorable scenes
this movie sucked.the last time i was this disappointed was when i saw the matrix reloaded expecting a classic like the original.the storyline was way too far fetched even for an indy film, the only action was some car chases(one of which had too much cgi;the beauty of the old movies was the realism), cate blanchett sucked.shia's surprise identity wasnt much of a shocker, oh and george lucas couldn't decide if ray winstone was a good guy or bad guy.if u appreciate the old films do not watch this.
Hmmmm, I guess if you're a moron it might have made total sense and been a hell of a great movie. Much like Star Wars Ep. 1-3 this is nothing but a big slap in the face.
I cannot believe this came from Spielberg. Lucas, yes!
After the last three in the Star Wars series he completely ruined.
First of all,how can this be the most disappointing movie of 2008? The year's not over yet. Second, I totally disagree. As a fan of the other three movies, I was not disappointed. Somebody on Yahoo said something about it not making sense. Bull. If you were paying attention, it made total sense. As for some of the scenes being silly, there were always silly scenes in these movies, go back & watch if you don't believe me. And there were always certain sci-fi elements in the films; aliens didn't really surprise me. All in all, it was a typical Indiana Jones movie, & I loved it.
I noticed that there are a few people who were disappointed with the film and that's ok after all everyone has there own opinion, but i'm happy to say i'm defentily not one of the disappointed ones. In fact i really enjoyed it and i'm going back to see it, the only thing i didn't like much were the CG effects, other than that and maybe the ending, the movie was great.
I really don't care what people think, THIS MOVIE IS GOOD. it had the the same feeling as the last ones and it was better then the third!!!
WOW SO GOOD TO SEE INDIANA JONES ON THE BIG SCREEN AGAIN. LOVE THIS MOVIE WASNT A FAN OF THE LAST CRUSADE, GOING BACK TO SEE IT AGAIN SUNDAY. IM HOPING WE SEE ANOTHER INDY FILM IN THE WORKS 2 THUMBS UP!!!!!!!!
*SPOILER*
I agree with jcurl17 the aliens were a little ridiculous and over the top, at least it wasn't until the very end...otherwise it'd just suck.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant believe they really put aliens in Indiana Jones. I was so pissed when I saw the movie. I just started laughing. I couldn't imagine that they could even consider such a silly plot. I love the trilogy of Indiana Jones. This movie is NOT a part of the Indiana Jones in my eyes.
Hello Everyone, I am looking foward to this! As I grab my hat and whip, someone pass the popcorn! Cue up John Williams because I'm gidder than a schoolboy!
