This second "Indiana Jones" sequel is more light-hearted and fun than the last installment "Temple Of Doom". Ford & Connery have a great time together as onscreen father & son. Don't let the PG-13 rating fool you,it's for the entire family. So, as the tagline proclaims, "Have The...( read more) Adventure Of Your Life, Keeping Up With The Joneses!"

This is easily my favourite of the Indiana Jones films. It?s the perfect adventure film for a Saturday afternoon!

Only eight years after "Raiders of the Lost Ark", Harrison Ford returned for a third and preferably final time as famous archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones. With Sean Connery joining Ford as Indy's father Henry, this film would redeem the series after the awful "Temple of D...( read more)oom".

Introduced to Walter Donovan (Julian Glover), rich benefactor to his university, Dr Jones will this time rescue his father as he travels around the globe on the hunt of the Holy Grail.

As people play roles more, it's obvious that they're going to get better at the performances. This is true more than ever with Ford's performance. Providing a fun, laid back performance, Ford's connection with Connery (who is only 12 years his senior) is a masterstroke.

It's not just these two however which are so superb. Denholm Elliot as Marcus Brody is always a laugh, as is John Rhys-Davies as Sallah. Both provide an extra joke element in this feel good story.

All in all, "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" is your typical adventure film. Entertaining from beginning to end, it thrives on some stunning acting performances and a great script. If you want to watch a decent adventure film, ignore "Temple of Doom" and go straight for this.

When people mention Indiana Jones, I would guess the first thing to pop up in their mind would be related to Raiders Of The Lost Ark (an excellent film, no doubt about that), unless it's a negative experience in which case the mind goes to Temple Of Doom or the nuking in Crystal ...( read more)Skull. But to me, I always look back on this film, a wonderful adventure and a unique "buddy comedy".

So after taking a break from Nazi fighting in Temple Of Doom (yes I know it's a prequel but from a production viewpoint), Indy's (Harrison Ford) back to show them up again, find his missing father and uncover the legendary Holy Grail.

Something of great interest to me is the lack of a true "Indy girl". We've had the delightful Marion Ravenwood (Raiders, Crystal Skull) and the horrible Willie Scott (Temple) but the closest we get is Dr. Elsa Schneider (minor spoilers here, possibly) who actually ends up subverting it by being part of the villains plans. I like this for it eliminates the damsel in distress at the end (perhaps not entirely but to a point) and it leads to what I'll talk about in my next paragraph.

The aspect that appeals to me most is the idea of Indy and his father (Sean Connery in one of my favorite of his performances in any film) bonding over a hunt for the Grail. This is where the "buddy comedy" I mentioned earlier comes into play. Only the difference here is not being from two different worlds but rather, two different viewpoints from the same world. But the film does also contain some heartwarming moments, such as when Indy's friends believe he has been killed. Indy then appears behind them, peers over to see what they're looking at and his father hugs him so fiercely you'd think THAT might do him in.

    (Possible spoilers here, take caution.)
The climax of the film I find exciting too. The trials Indy must go through to reach the Grail are well thought out and Indy's reasoning to which cup out of the many is the true Grail is sheer brilliance.

And let's give a big hand to Robert Eddison as the Grail Knight. This was his first film, after doing so much on stage and television. He was excited and nervous about this part and I think he was simply smashing. "He chose... incorrectly" is still an excellent line reading.

Throw in the classic Indy score and a large serving of humor and you have one Hell of an adventure film. My personal pick of a series I love so much.

Probably my least favourite of the 3 made before the new one. I found this one didn't get me into it as much. It is a lot better then the new one though.

    Review:
Indiana Jones is back in action in his funniest and entertaining adventure ever in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. This was the first Indy movie i ve ever seen and boy is really fun to watch. The Last Crusade is for me the funniest of all four movies because it makes crack me up with the hilarious scenes between Indy and his dad.The Last Crusade is on the level of Raiders and Temple but very superior to the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.Anyway,if you want to have some fun, have fune with the Jones boys.

Harrison Ford proves once again that he IS Indiana Jones. He was amazing like he usually is.Indy faces once again the Nazis and of course he beats the crap out of him.Like i said it before,Harrison is the best thing of the series because i couldn t imagine another guy playing Indy.Harrison is and will be always be Indiana Jones.Sean Connery is absolutely hilaarious as Henry Jones Sr,Indy s father. He steals the entire movie on torturing Indy by calling him Junior and it makes laugh my ass of.We learned that Indy s real name is Henry Jones Jr(now you know why is called Junior). The chemistry between Harrison and Sean is absolutely amazing and that s what make this movie great.Who is also back is Denholm Elliott as Marcus, which was unfortunenatly his last appearence and John Rhys Davies as Sallah.River Phoenix was fantastic as young Indy.He nailed the part perfectly because he looked exacly like Harrison.

Steven Spielberg brings the action and the excitement once again with Indiana Jones. His direction is once again inspiring and wonderfull, recovering the excitement of the original movie. The action sequences are spectacular, specially the insane tank fight.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade needs no words because is a excellent third installement and like i said it before, the adventure has a name:Indiana Jones. If you think that one Jones is good, two Jones is even better.
