  I will say this movie is a love it or hate it move. I loved it. It was simply stunning to me on many levels and proves to me that there are still people out there with a creative spirit. If you can find this movie WATCH IT. Amazing movie that had me to be honest as a father of young daughters, had me weeping at the end. Otherworldly aspects tell the story of a father finding redemption in his own heart and thru the eyes of his child.

  An admirable project that oozes passion from every pore, but there doesn't seem to be much innovation behind it. What will stick with me from Ink is nothing about the film itself, between its passable acting, hokey plot and serviceable special effects (though surely commendable when budget is taken into consideration); instead, I'll remember the obvious devotion the creative talent breathed into it. For a 250000 dollar film with no big names attached to it, it's garnered some pretty significant attention, but ultimately you can't help but grade on a curve, and Ink really only has merits because of its lack of pedigree. I can only hope that Jamin Winans catches the eye of some daring studio higher-up, because Ink leaves you the impression that he's a man of his craft working with unremarkable tools.

You have to see it to truly understand the visual originality to it. It's definitely unlike any other film I've seen. The idea of it is fresh and interesting. It was definitely an unexpected experience. I thought the film was going to be much more darker and maybe even a bit of horror would be mixed in. I was pleasantly surprised that it was not what I had intended it to be. The film is about the burden of guilt and how it can divert your life in different directions. The young girl in this was great. She has the essence of a young Dakota Fanning. Chris Kelly was amazing in both his roles as John and Ink. I really liked 'The Path Finder'. His outbursts and his way of doing things were funny and interesting. This is a must watch for any true movie lover."

  There is a good story hidden in this "B" movie. It gets kind of "new agey" at times. Enjoyable, but the opportunity for this movie to MUCH better was missed.

  The concept itself is noteworthy, but everything else comes up short. Not a bad student film, if you're grading on the curve, but definitely NOT something you want to pay $11 to see in a theater (or even $3 to rent the DVD).

  A cowled figure snatches an 8-year old girl from her bedroom and is tracked by dream guardians; the girl's body falls into a coma as her estranged, workaholic father refuses to leave a big business deal to visit her in the hospital. A truly original grown up fairy take with inventive visuals and a simple to follow allegory; the style of first time director Jamin Winans' movie has been compared to Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton, and he measures up to his influences.

  As I watched the enjoyable first hour, I had a sneaky feeling that the film would be more interesting as parts and ideas than as a whole, and I was right. The journey simply didn't feel all that worth it (or even credible) during the final act. That said, if you're going to make a low budget film that will make people notice, you could hardly do better than this. It is thought out, visually interesting, and keeps you guessing for two thirds of the film. Not that the end isn't thought out - again, I just wasn't satisfied where it went. An interesting curio. I wonder what these folks could due with a real budget.

  A dark and obscure Gilliam-esque fable about a mysterious creature, know as Ink, steals a child's soul in hopes of using it as a bargaining chip to join the Incubi - the group of supernatural beings responsible for creating nightmares. It might feel hard to follow at first, but this low budget gem, can easily create a cult following for those fortunate enough to come across it.

The severe lack of any exposition is alienating.

  An interesting grown up fairytale about a young girl who needs to be loved by her work obseesed dad. When we go to sleep at night we get visited by a force of people that give us good dreams and an opposing force that give us nightmares. When a young girl is seperated from her dad because of his obseession with works leads him to drugs and drink, the bad guys see an opportunity to take the little girl out of this world. This happens when a seemingly lonely wanderer called Ink takes her soul when shes asleep, putting her real self into some type of coma and the only way she can get out of this is if her dad comes for her and shows some love and remorse for his previous actions. Along with the good dream forces, a struggle ensues to help get the girl back from where she could be lost forever. Although not for everyone, Ink has a decent, simple message at its heart as well as some cool special affects and fight scenes and is worth a look.

  Every now and again a film comes along that restores my faith in imaginative, original film making, and when it happens to come from the little guy (IE independent) it makes it all the more miraculous. I really can't say enough good things about this film. It has enough sci-fi punch, pizazz and eye candy to keep you hooked on a superficial level but is grounded thoroughly in heartfelt performances. So no matter how surreal it becomes you still understand the human elements it all emanates from; free will, cause and effect, redemption...universal themes wrapped in an non-melodramatic, non-preachy fashion.

  Brillant film that completely blew my expectations out of the water. This indie film is a true gem, a diamond in the rough. i highly recommend it to anyone out there who loves cinema or just enjoys a good movie. A new favorite of mine. See it! http://www.doubleedgefilms.com/
