Konstantin Maximov starts off on the right foot with Interceptor, but rapidly loses ground and never recovers.
The story has got some interesting components behind it, while it crosses between action, sci-fi, and fantasy; however, as a whole the film is lackluster, even with a run time under 90 minutes. Explanations for various elements aren't deep enough which ends up leaving the story a little difficult to piece together.

The ample amount of effects are a mixed bag, although some of the visuals are quite amusing. The choreography for the action is noteworthy, but not exactly memorable. The sound effects for these segments are also a disappointment, as they fail to add that extra intensity to the hits.

Much like the bland tone of the film, the acting comes across as lifeless. A lot of the line delivery is monotone, while the characters lack sufficient development. At least Igor Petrenko has the look of a fighting hero.

Interceptor is a Russian film that gets by with some of its visuals and not much of anything else. Feel free to move on to the next movie.
