Plot: A confused young man (Marsden) takes a journey on a road that doesn't exist on any map.
Contains two of my fave actors, albeit with quite short screen times, and it's from the same guys who did BTTF. What's not to love? :D
AWESOME! Awesome! O.W. Grant was such an interesting character. If only Gary Oldman were really running around fucking up wishes he granted.
great movie...i have been lucky to see it at television by chance..at 2:00 pm in the morning..it was very good...GARY OLDMAN always stoles the show...
highly underrated its a great road movie, soaked in philosophy so obviously I'm a fan, might not be to everyones liking but it is watchable.
interesting story. good cast. i ran across it by accident...i'd never heard of it. for something not too heavy, but still makes you think, check this movie out!
So good! It was a philosophical ride that didn't try to be too deep, instead it took a fun adventurous approach to it which I enjoyed. And you gotta love the back the the future cameos.
I loved this movie. It took you on a fun journey and kept you entertained the whole way through. It is not too serious and not too silly. A great cast made it a pleasure to watch.
I thought different situations in the movie were original and bizarre which made it fun to watch. All in all though it reminded me of an cheesy early 90's movie. Id probably would never watch it again, once was fine and enough!
This movie gives good reference to why movies are not shot in St. Louis. It had some good ideas and some moral lessons but after awhile you feel like you're in Sunday school watching veggie tales... Maybe Nick is right and I'm just negative, but I prefer to not be soo bombarded by moral lessons.
Pretentious pic pretending profundity. Good actors trying very hard to make sense out of a senseless script. No lessons learned, plenty of prices to be paid, and your movie dollar should not be one of them.
Nothing I can say could really describe this movie or really do justice to how different, yet enjoyable, this movie is. It's a blast and one of the few art type films that I would recommend to almost anyone. There are so many different layers to this movie, that I don't even want to call them layers. No matter which way you look you can pull meaning out of something.
I don't like to call movies "brilliant", but this is one of the few I will and not feel guilty about throwing around the word.
That, and for those of us in Saint Louis it is nice to see a movie that somewhat features the city (including Imos! kinda)
Without a doubt a must see for ANY Back to the Future fans. Cameos and lots of hidden references.
A good movie to see, may surprise you and you'll want to see it again. You can't go wrong with Smart and Oldman and Cooper and Lloyd.
Freaking brilliant. You are punishing yourself by having not seen this movie. The director/writer is Bob Gale, who also wrote for the Back to the Future trilogy, and, coincidentally, Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd also have parts in this film. James Marsden does a very good job in his role as lead character, and Gary Oldman is, as usual, Gary Oldman - which is the highest compliment it's possible to give to him.
Looking at the box art and reading the synopsis you probably wouldn't expect it to be any good but it actually is.
This is one of the best Unknown movies I've ever seen! In fact, it's one of my Top 20 Movies of All-Time. I loved it.
Really interesting find - had never heard of it, but a friend recommended it and was pleasantly surprised.
OK, everyone might not like this type of thing. I think the story line is geared to younger generations, but if you're a film-lover, then you must know Gary Oldman. It's worth it, jut to see Gary play a type of leprachaun(spelling?) character.
Bob Gale finally got this film made and deservedly so. It has the mysticism and whimsy of Back To The Future, with a hint of The Twilight Zone. Very good film.
Playing mindgames with a slutty hitch hiker (Pink Ranger) and a neutered half-Leprechaun should be on everyone's list for movie elements.
A very interesting tale of self discovery and a candid look at those unanswerable questions in life that we all have asked ourselves at one point or another.
