This is the direction that live techno/house/etc clubs need to take - synching narrative visuals to a music mix. On top of this film's artistic accomplishment, the story is interesting and original, and the mix is superior indeed (it's Daft Punk, what do you expect?). This is not...( read more)

Amazing. Discovery is one of my favourite electonica albums and the animation is fantastic- extremely well executed story, very emotional and well animated. As an overall package this is something really special.

Woooow!!!! otro anime pero en este caso hay que poner atención por la cantidad tan grande de detalles y simbolismos. Lograron hacer que las imágenes hablaran por si mismas con un ritmo magistral.

Short and sweet, they got the length just right in my opinion (both the album and the film...which of course are linked), beautifully animated, most of the music is good, some songs started to grate a bit though, too repetative but it all fit the story wonderfully, and what a sto...( read more)

March 31, 2007My all time favorite animation movie. On top of that, Leiji Matsumoto is my favorite animator and manga artist. He's so talented O__O... And the graphics, and his style? AUSOUME. Also, it's combined with my favorite duo -Daft Punk. The music went really well with the animation. That just makes the movie even better! Love them BOTH.
(as for the people that think it's american animation, well, IT'S NOT. Technically, it's considered anime because of the art director that made it is japanese. Aired in France and Japan.) It says it right on the front cover: Daft Punk & Leiji Matsumoto's INTERSTELLA 5555 -
March 7, 2007I'll post the first comment, I:5555 is almost my all-time favorite movie, it kicks butt, it has no dialogue (excluding the lyrics sung in 5 of the 14 songs, although the words spoken in the song doesn't let the characters interact through communication) and it's well done, the music is awesome, this DVD is the whole reason i got into Daft Punk and to this day i'm a loyal fan (topped over 200 songs on my iPod from them alone) and really, just get the DVD, the story is great, the music is great (which makes sense cuz its a music DVD), the art is fantastic, and it's daft punk, i mean, what else do you really need to know
