Interstella 5555 - The 5tory of the 5ecret 5tar 5ystem is just a collection of all Daft Punk´s video from the album Discovery.

The film has some good animations, I felt like watching a good anime. In this movies there´s no dialogues, it´s just the Daft Punk music that tell us and story, a good story but with a bad twist.

Despite no dialogue, this had a good story and with Daft Punk music playing the entire time and moving the story along, it made it a pretty cool and unique film. Overall a cool movie to see and if your a Daft Punk fan, this is a must!

I watched this DVD 4 times in 4 days. If you like DAFT PUNK/House music at all you will have a hard time not tapping your toes through this 90min bukakki of eye and ear candy!

A must-see for fans of good anime and/or good techno. Really impressive visual storytelling (no dialogue in the film). Also, a stone cold trip. Check it out.

This is the direction that live techno/house/etc clubs need to take - synching narrative visuals to a music mix. On top of this film's artistic accomplishment, the story is interesting and original, and the mix is superior indeed (it's Daft Punk, what do you expect?). This is not a true musical as it is exclusively music throughout (most without lyrics), and it cannot be properly compared to other group's attempts at concept movies (like Tommy). Still, it's the only "rock opera" that can hold your attention (if you like dance/electronica/etc).

I love Daft Punk 'Discovery', I thought the animation was more or less incredible, HOWEVER, I was somewhat disappointed to learn that there was NO dialogue whatsoever. It's visually stunning, and the music is great, but ultimately it felt like I was watching an 80's Anime with the sound off and a CD synched up (a la 'Dark Side of the Moon' and 'The Wizard of OZ') If this sounds like something you would be into for an hour, by all means rent it! However, don't expect either a traditional anime, or a 'movie musical' because it does not compute as either one.

It's fun, even if you don't /really/ like the music. I love the delicious retro-ness of it, how the aliens have light-speed spacecraft but music still comes from turntables rather than compact- or hard-discs, and of course all those Matsumoto beauties, even if they all look the same. They do work especially well in blue, though.

I'm not a big fan of daft punk and never have been so I'm pretty much relying on the fact that this is an anime, in order to enjoy the film.

Really cool idea and it works really well! Only down side is that some of the songs aren't all that great compared to others, some seem more like filler in between the real songs but even so, it's still really cool!

A disco pop music videoclip by Daft Punk and Leiji Matsumoto, reflecting the french duo idea of what is the musical industry all about... in a funny way!

Funny movie that manages what it sets out to do. Tell an entire story with only songs that do not directly correlate with the actors mouths or words.

simple story, great story telling .. a musical anime without dialogue, still, you'd know every plot's twists and turns .. and all of it goes with Daft Punk music .. fantastic!

If you're into Daft Punk, you'll love this. If not and you're into techno, then you might like it too. It's most of their music videos for the songs on the album Discovery, in the form of a movie.

As much as I lothe anime, the music of Daft Punk more than makes up for it. Good story with no dialog.

This movie is really good! Despite my loath for American anime I really liked this movie. It's kind of a really long Daft Punk music video, but DP is good. Anyhow, even though it DOES feel like Am-ime it's still worth a watch.

My all time favorite animation movie. On top of that, Leiji Matsumoto is my favorite animator and manga artist. He's so talented O__O... And the graphics, and his style? AUSOUME. Also, it's combined with my favorite duo -Daft Punk. The music went really well with the animation. That just makes the movie even better! Love them BOTH.
(as for the people that think it's american animation, well, IT'S NOT. Technically, it's considered anime because of the art director that made it is japanese. Aired in France and Japan.) It says it right on the front cover: Daft Punk & Leiji Matsumoto's INTERSTELLA 5555

I'll post the first comment, I:5555 is almost my all-time favorite movie, it kicks butt, it has no dialogue (excluding the lyrics sung in 5 of the 14 songs, although the words spoken in the song doesn't let the characters interact through communication) and it's well done, the music is awesome, this DVD is the whole reason i got into Daft Punk and to this day i'm a loyal fan (topped over 200 songs on my iPod from them alone) and really, just get the DVD, the story is great, the music is great (which makes sense cuz its a music DVD), the art is fantastic, and it's daft punk, i mean, what else do you really need to know
