Critic Reviews

  • Scott Brown, Entertainment Weekly

Salva squanders all of his original movie's not-entirely- awfulness and bumbles into the realm of unintentional comedy.

  • Greg Milner, Village Voice

Many unanswered questions of JC2 -- the '23' theme, why no one in Poho County, save one, can seem to find a broken-down school bus.

  • Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper

I think there's a reason they're a no name cast. There's not really anybody that's really very identifiable, or very good in their roles.

  • James Berardinelli, ReelViews

It's gory, repetitive, and not terribly interesting.

  • Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post

    Functional but tiresome.

Worse than its predecessor, this one has only one unintentionally funny sequence that's the least watchable. For the rest, it's a mighty sucker. With a generous heart, I give it 0.05/5.

Makes me want to go back and watch the original to see which I like best, but this is one of the best movies I'd seen in awhile...the creature is awesome. There is one of the deleted scenes I wish would've been included though, and probably would've made this a 5-star… More

Much better than I expected. Not good by any means, but I enjoyed it and genuinely wanted to see what happened at the end. Okay if you have nothing else to do.

Way out on an anonymous highway an anonymous busload of teens make pretty bland repast for a pretty cool creature. I imagined the creature on the set between shots, cellphone in paw, firing its agent and then negotiating for a better script, better director, and a better cast ...… More

Blah. The first one was decent. The sequel...not so much.
