When a film is trying to be the object of cult, for the sake of it, it rarely stands the chance. I still think Jennfer's body will become a cult film in the future, but it's a mess. It's not scary (like great horror-comedies are) and it's never actually funny, just amusing and fu...( read more)n to watch. It is, however, wickedly sexy and compulsively entertaining. So much femininity can get smothering, but they - the women in the film - all deliver: Fox by just being what she's been for the last two years (read: the most provocative starlet since Angelina Jolie), Cody by putting her writing skills to good, albeit exaggerated use, Kusama by shooting the film with flair, and Seyfried (the best part of the film) by being such a fine and talented young actress. Which Fox isn't.

Went in expecting a gory horror flick, came out with a quirky teenage...something ;?!
I'm not 100% on what happened here but it definitely wasn't what I had been looking for. With the most minimal of scares and a stoic leading actress the film falls short of cinematic glory and l...( read more)ands somewhere in between 'well maybe and seriously!?!'.

Aiming considerably lower than she did in her breakout hit "Juno", screenwriter Diablo Cody tackles the challenging world of teen horror comedy. Instead of a wise-cracking pregnant teenager, she is now delivering us a gorgeous, cannibalistic cheerleader. The product is inferior, but certainly not bad. In fact, it is undeniably good. Featuring every teen boy's fantasy, Megan Fox, as the titular Jennifer Check, the film has its tongue planted firmly in its cheek right from the get-go, and is noticeably proud of it. Fox, widely-recognized for her beauty rather than her talent, is surprisingly effective, though she never quite grasps the purpose of Diablo Cody's quirky dialog. Often, she says humor-laced dialog with complete seriousness and vice-versa. Ultimately though, when she dares to let her hair down and have some fun with her performance, she epitomizes the guilty-pleasure-esquire appeal that Cody was aiming for. Amanda Seyfried, on the other hand, proves to be the film's strongest performer, hitting the nail on the head every time.

I have this feeling, me and Cody do not mix. Needless to say she did tone down all the annoying "teenage" banter but brought up the sex appeal a lil more than needed... It has the most random lesbian kiss scene that leads to the most strangest reveal that left a bad taste in my m...( read more)outh. Aside from it being down-right ridiculous, I still can't find a thing I truly enjoyed... but at the same time I guess you can say it was worth one viewing?

I knew this was going to be bad, but i didn't think it would be this bad. What i thought was going to be a fairly good horror film, was almost a teen flick.
