Saw this movie and loved it. I know a lot of people hated it and I might few of the people who like it but the story was very nice. A father-daughter relationship with some comedy elements thrown in (What are you're intentions?) but with heart. I know it's nothing like his other movies which were outrageously hilarious but I watching a documentary about it and Ben Affleck even said that knowingly Kevin Smith personally that this was A Kevin Smith movie because he is now a father and I supposed it's whether or not you can connect to the movie. Now About that comment on the J LO scenes, they were actually cut a lot down. Apparently there was supposed to be a wedding scene but because of the speculation of people telling Affleck not to marry Jen that's why Kevin Smith decided to do what he did.
