This is a well made interesting film. A must see for any fans of conspiracy theories. A lot of interesting actors show up in small roles.
-
an intense drama set upon probably the biggest conspiracy theory in all of human history, political thrillers have yet to be as bold and speculative on true events, very well done for stone's breakthrough work
-
Feel like watching a complicated and confusing documentary at the beginning, but it becomes better when it approaches to the end. A conspiracy or not? Maybe it's not the main theme. Most importantly, are we willing to seek truth out or not? Are we going to fight for or retain what we should have? Jim Garrison's final speech is really intriguing and make you think deeply about it.

New Orleans Attorney Jim Garrison (Kevin Costner) investigates the assassination of President Kennedy when he doubts the official conclusion that Oswald acted alone. Although the conspiracy theories in this movie are outrageous, it is great entertainment. And the cast is incredible! Kevin Costner, Sissy Spacek, Ed Asner, Kevin Bacon, John Candy, Tommy Lee Jones, Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Gary Oldman, Joe Pesci, Donald Sutherland...did I forget anybody?

"The organizing principle of any society, Mr. Garrison, is for war. The authority of the state over its people resides in its war powers. Kennedy wanted to end the Cold War in his second term. He wanted to call off the moon race and cooperate with the Soviets. He signed a treaty to ban nuclear testing. He refused to invade Cuba in 1962. He set out to withdraw from Vietnam. But all that ended on the 22nd of November, 1963."

This is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen. One of the best too. A lot of people have argued that Oliver Stone is just bitter and this is not accurate but what is? I am not saying everything in the movie was fact but anyone with common sense would know that there is a conspiracy and that there was a cover up and still is after all those years.
It's been proven scientifically and even by witnesses on that day, the people that were there, as well as video evidence of the fatal shot coming from the front and not where 'Oswald' apparently was.
The speech at the end was one of the best and most touching i have ever heard. Kevin Costner does a brilliant job and brings out a lot of emotions and it concludes the movie perfectly.
The 60's were a hard time for America. A lot of people died from conspiracy and for what? Only an idiot and a naive person would really think that all those deaths have been a coincidence, especially when it came to evidence.
This is a powerful movie and this conspiracy will be with us through out our life time. This may not all be facts but it is so close and it opens your mind on how scary some things are. Things that we don't think about much that happen behind closed doors. Powerful men with too much power and influence. -
Oliver Stone's JFK is simply astounding from beginning to end. I don't know how they made this film, the first minutes alone show that painstaking research and devotion were required. The result was a masterpiece. The cinematography, dialogue, music, acting all masterfully done. The performances are some of the best these actors have ever done namely Gary Oldman who is menacing and disturbing. The acting seems a little too real, maybe that is why the whole cast was not nominated for Oscars. The film might not be accurate and does not know the truth for the great conspiracy, but who cares nobody does. The film seeks for the truth and urges us to do the same for whatever cause. Finally, JFK is so good that it sometimes makes you feel that you are watching a documentary and it is simply mesmerizing.

err... not bad but really after a few years I can't remember a single image of that film. Just the overly paranoid feeling I had while watching it.
-
Excellent! if you want to see a movie full of conspiracy and mistery that will get you thinking later on.. this is your movie!!! nice job!!
-
A movie on the investigations of Jim Morrison into the assassination of former U.S. President Jefferson Fitzgerald Kennedy.....
-
Amazing, just amazing. Only Oldman could pull off a Lee Harvey Oswald the audience can sympathise with.
-
Everything that Stone puts to the table I can't quite buy, but one can't deny it's greatly put together. The last hour is just too powerful. Kevin Costner continues to surprise me.
-
Aa powerful film about a bygone era where the terrorist enemies of america were crazy right wing americans instead of crazy terrorists..., if you have the stanima and/or attention span to keep track of all the side plots and tangents- combines the best qualities of political thriller murder mystery, and personal obcession films- Of course the same story could be told in almost half the time, and it does border on pretentiousness, but still an important, well done film that is worth the time

Despite it's historical flaws, Oliver Stone's JFK is made with such passion and kinetic energy that it refuses to be overlooked or ignored. There's a HUGE ensemble cast full of brilliant performances. It truly brings to life one of the most fascinating, controversial, and darkest times in American history. What does it conclude? That yes indeed........Kevin Costner killed JFK.

I'm giving this one a higher score, but for all the wrong reasons. Basically, it's unintentionally hilarious. You can tell Oliver Stone is serious about what he's laying down, but he lays it down so thick, it's comical. Even the actors get swept up in the melodrama.
Very entertaining stuff. I still remember all the Sunday morning talk shows taking this seriously. -
Your so full of it Oliver Stone. But I'm sure you had good intentions in mind. Hey Costner, listen to me though. Just stop acting. No one will notice, trust me. You'll save everyone the trouble of having to see you again. You'll be a hero for getting rid of yourself. Now shoo!

sempre tive muita admiração por JFK, e este filme que fala do seu assassinato me interessou muito ver, além disso entra Kevin Kostner, um actor que gosto muito de ver.
-
Badly researched and so riddled with inaccuracies that it boarders on the silly. All star cast and big budget give unfortunate credibility to the worst myths and misinformation about the JFK assassination. If you do not believe the official story, this is not where to get your information.
-
Amazing film. Very powerful. A great cast. Well directed. I think it will get better the more you watch it because there is a lot take in (even though it's a long film) and it's hard to keep track of who all the people that are referred to by name are.

""Treason doth never prosper," wrote an English poet, "What's the reason? For if it prosper, none dare call it treason."
JFK is an astonishing, riveting achievement in filmmaking and marks Oliver Stone's best movie to date. Stone has crafted a masterpiece, and although the film is controversial and always will be due to the subject matter (not to mention those who believe something different will hate the film in favour of their beliefs) the film has been approached exceptionally!
There have been many conspiracy theories in relation to the John F. Kennedy assassination, and all aspects and theories are approached by Oliver Stone in great detail and using all available evidence at his disposal.
The film is the story of New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison (Costner) who is the only man to date to take someone to court in relation to the JFK assassination. He takes it upon himself to open up a detailed investigation and finally crack open the conspiracy in relation to one of the worst tragedies during the 20th Century.
In creating such a masterpiece, Stone has also put together an unbeatable cast lead by Kevin Costner who delivers a flawless performance.
Stone's films are always going to be controversial, and many people believe that he tried to shove a viewpoint down out throats and make us believe what he wants us to. But this is only narrow-minded people, as Stone was only outlining the inconsistencies that question the official line of Lee Harvey Oswald being the lone gunman. Until the government finally release the truth, we will never know how accurate the theories outlined here actually are.
Yes, the film is three hours long and many people lose interest, but the film is so well told and above all engaging that I was never bored. When the drama makes it to the courtroom for the final 40 minutes, I had my eyes glued to the screen as we are presented the facts in ways that we cannot dispute, and Costner's final monologue was Oscar-worthy.
On top of this, there are so many other qualities, like providing us with archive footage integrated into the dramatisations that are occurring. That Oscar for film editing was much deserved.
Love it or hate it, I leave it up to you. But if you dislike the movie due to its viewpoints that may question your beliefs; your narrow-mindedness shames our race. It's that simple. And if you don't wish to watch the film due to its three hour running time (God knows I didn't), I suggest that you cut out your stupidity and spend a few hours acquainting yourself with one of the most riveting, astonishing films ever made.
I never had much of an interest in investigating the truth behind the assassination of such a fine man that was JFK, but when I viewed this movie I now feel advantaged to have been presented with such facts, but infuriated that the government have never issued the truth that they so obviously hold. It also reminded me that the democracy we live in disadvantages us in terms of not being presented with vital information that we deserve to be given. And if Oliver Stone was able to trigger such thoughts in my mind, he has done his job correctly. -
Whether its based on any fact or not this is a fascinating and well told story with a great performance by gary oldman.

CONSPIRACY THEORIES HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE INTRIGUING. A FILM THAT DISMISSES SIMPLE EXPLANATIONS FOR RATHER COMPLICATED ONES. JFK WILL INFORM YOU, INSPIRE YOU AND MAYBE EVEN MAKE YOU CRY. DIRECTOR STONE IS YET TO REPLICATE WHAT HE ACHIEVED WITH THIS FILM.

"Dear Watson, you laugh at any trail of thought that doesn't come from your own imagination." - Sherlock Holmes
We live under a government that has, in its relatively short history comitted numerous diabolical acts. It massacred the Native Americans especialy women and children. It conducted nuclear tests on our soldiers from WWII injecting them with uranium and forcing them to "observe" (get exposed to) nuclear tests. It stood by while blacks in southern towns were massacred and lynched decades after emancipation and forced to live in southern tyranny not really taking any action until the mid 50's. We have had a hand in every major government over-throw since the beginning of the 20th century which include CIA "death squads", a global drug ring and government assasinations. We have created WMD's and used them on thousands of innocent lives in Japan not once but TWICE and you are going to sit there and tell me that our government: with it's abundance of knowledge, money, resources and corporate back-up wouldn't be able to construct an assasination of it's own president? (or 9/11 for that matter)....
Nearly 100 doctors in Dallas who saw Kennedy's body agree unanimously that the large hole in the back of his head was in fact a exit wound.
56 + witnesses at Dealey Plaza heard gunfire from the general direction of the Grassy Knoll. FIFTY SIX people.
Napoleon once said that "history is written by the winner". John F. Kennedy was clearly a loser to a greater device of industrialist committees and secret socities that did not like what he was trying to do. This film is an excellent example of an informed population asking questions. That's all and nothing more. The simple fact that we are exercising our common sense to question "why" is astounding and commendable.
There are loop holes to the Warren Commission investigation that have allowed these theories to continue to this day for a reason. The attempts by Jim Garrison and members of the New Orleans District Attorneys office to investigate this CIA coup operation was a valiant stab for the truth. The sad reality is the game is rigged and even with some support, these same globalist committees who had Kennedy murdered for his threat to globalization (a new world order) were and are today still holding the cards.
The burden of proof is on the American people if they care enough to raise eyebrows and question miracle science and psychics that the Warren Commission relies on. However, don't take it from me. As I assume most of you are too preoccupied with the chores of daily life to care about the history before them (we wonder why it repeats itself), I encourage you that unless you do some research yourself and become familiar with David Rockefeller, the CFR, Trilateral Commission, Bilderberg group etc. then you have little to no opinion on this issue.
The film itself is masterful cinematography and a competent ensemble cast that makes for a great viewing experience. -
One of the best political dramatic movies ever made.
The entire cast is fabulous.
Intriguing but convincing, you'd still want more after the 200 minutes of elapsed time. -
A movie I can watch over and over again...new twists each time that I missed previously. I am a Kevin Costner fan (yes) and I thought he did a fantastic job. Must buy a new copy of it for my library!
