EEEEK! Seems like a very high score for what seems to be a pretty much unheard of Tim Allen movie right?

Well maybe it is, but I don't really care, I loved this movie. I picked it up dirt cheap on dvd and got it for James (jim) Belushi, I had read that he was good in this so I took on a chance on a blind buy. (glad I did)

It has a quote on the dvd box that says "Enormously entertaining and heart-warming" and that's pretty much what it is, but it's also damn funny to boot.

Tim Allen is really good here as is Julie Bowen from Boston Legal (and she's also very hot!) but Kelly Lynch (Roadhouse, Curly Sue) has very little to do. A young Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) plays the 12 year old going on 60, wise Yoda like child that always seems to be in these kind of movies to help steer the adults in the right direction.

The star of the show though is Jim Belushi, man he is funny in this and a great character who steals every scene he is in.

Don't expect to watch this movie with some kind of unexpected ending, you know after 10 mins what's going to happen, but it's a damn fun ride that will make you laugh and smile all the way through.

I actually did laugh out loud at this one - in particular "side effects may include [long list] and... death"
Yeah it was stupid but in that cute loveable Tim Alleney sorta way.

A reasonable movie that has some entertainment. Though nothing fabulous. It is a very average movie.

Yes, shame on me. I saw it. I will write a thousand times on the blackboard that I should not have done so.

Cute story about a dad who grows a little backbone. Jim Belushi is funny in here as the pudgy karate teacher who gives Allen self defense tips.

Not exactly what I was expecting when I started watching it. Not exactly Tim Allen's funniest moments either. When it comes to comedy I expect a lot from this guy but here he just didn't seem to deliver. It had it's moments but just not enough of them. I wouldn't go recommending this movie to anyone over the age of twelve. It really isn't worth your time.

A simple film with an unconvincing plot. A bit melodramatic, bodering on sickly sweet at times, but oddly entertaining nevertheless thanks in part to its cast.

An attempt at rom-com. It's cute, sure, but it's not the greatest movie, or Tim Allen's greatest work. A man gets bullied around at work in front of his daughter and he vows to change his ways and be able to stand up for himself. Julie Bowen is a savor to this movie. She's sweet and funny and her acting is right on par. The script and story are lacking.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. There are some really funny parts to it, but, beware some language and crude humor.

I was going to see this once at my friends house--But I thought it would be boring, so I didn't bother! If it didn't have Tim Allen in it, I probably wouldn't be wanting to see it!

This was good. Tim Allen did a really good job in this one! It was funny but had a serious side too.

Any movie that has Patrick Warburton in it has to be good. I swear. No, really, it's true. Check Wikipedia if you don't believe me.

I read critics reviews of this film and see terms like 'bland', 'vanilla', 'so-so', 'conventional', and I wonder if that's why I avoid the Comedy aisle at the video store. Too many filmakers (and critics?) seem to believe that a comedy must be big, loud, rude and stupid to be successful. In strictly financial terms maybe they're right. But frankly I dreaded watching this film for that very reason. So why did I watch it? Because I had to. I was searching for a clip on identity and appearance to use at work. I didn't find anything long enough to use - but by the time the movie was over I was really glad I'd seen it. It was a gentle, sweet, simple, warm, funny, lovely film. And that is quite okay with me. :)

Not a bad family comedy with Tim Allen turned himself as nice guy into tough guy for his chance to fight against a bully at work. The warm-hearted relationship between Allen and Hayden Panettiere makes this a winner for pre-teens.

I liked this one. A man who wants to be more of a man takes lessons in self protection.... but when he gets in trouble again, he has to choose, walk away and win the respect of the woman he loves, or beat the man that challenges him and win the respect of the bystanders

A good Tim Allen movie. It has some good funny moments, specially the ones where he is training with Jim Belushi's character.

This is your average Tim Allen comedy. Not that its bad that it can only be average. But the fact that Patrick Warburton only has a small part in this one is very bad,as i think he is a talented actor. Watch ONLY if you are a Tim Allen fan!

Mildly amusing but Tim Allen was definitely in a slump at this time. The funniest thing is the warnings for drugs that is heard in the background on the tv.
