When the Queen?s crown jewels are stolen in a heist during a prestigious gathering, Great Brittan sends out their only agent to recover them, Johnny English. Johnny English is not the best agent his majesty has produced, he is the only one left alive after a mass assignation. A m...( read more)ysterious woman and French entrepreneur are prime suspects in the heist. Now the fate of the crown lies in Johnny English of her majesty?s secret service.
Rowan Atkinson is a comic genius. His knack for physical and visual comedy brings this James Bond spoof to life. As always John Malkovich is strong as the main villain. Fans of Mr. Bean and the Austin Powers films will be pleased with the effort Atkinson brings to the screen. The formula is no different from many movies in this type of genre, but the movie has several hilarious moments and shows how well of a comedian Atkinson really is. Johnny English receives three and half spy glasses out of five for the spoof of the James Bond films and the hilarious manner they are presented in.

Johnny English may well be too specifically British, and too slight, to connect strongly with audiences, but it's a pleasant enough diversion. full review
