When Johnny arrives, he meets his new family including "Uncle Chris" (the 12-year-old son of his new step-grandmother) who resents the upcoming marriage. Chris's only interest is to join a mountain boarding crew led by a teenage bully. When Johnny's grandfather and his new wife open a surf shop that also caters to mountain boarders, they are soon embroiled in a turf war with a rival shop owner who wants to shut their business down. Chris's antics cause complications for the store opening and the wedding, but eventually he reaches out to Johnny who helps Chris find his place within the new family and settle a turf war between the dueling sports shops.

    This was my favorite movie when I was 11. I think I liked it so much, because I had a crush on the guy who played 'Johnny', but now since I HATE Disney movies and my heart belongs to someone else, I don't enjoy this movie anymore :-(

    personally i liked this movie better than the first. most parts seemed not as boring, but it felt like most of the lines were repeated over, but in another way, BUT. much liked and appreciated (:

Johnny meets his Grandpa's fiancee - a young widow named Carla (Robyn Lively) from Philadelphia & 12 year old Uncle Chris (Jake T. Austin) moved to Hawaii - a dilapidated surf shop with help from Valerie (Rose McIver), Sam & Johnny he fixes the surf shop becomes a huge success, with even pro-dirt boarder Akoni Koma.
