    My Review:

Another Indonesian Movie. One of the best Indonesian movie I ever saw, rated as a good one. It has a simple story (and un...( read more)expected one). I thought this movie is about a man's promise he made when he was a child but I was totally wrong! It has very simple story about a man who commit to his job!

Well, the cast. It starred one of Indonesian's best actor, Nicholas Saputra, his performance was a good one, not his best though. Then Mariana Renata, not her acting, but her appearance, so cute, but thankfully she's not yet considered Indonesian's Alba (for her performance was a decent average one). Oh yeah, Surya Saputra also appeared and successfully played a perfectionist audience in this movie. Well, this movie has a lot of famous cameo such as Tora Sudiro, Indra Birowo (Fame for Indonesia's Extravaganza), and Tantowi Yahya. (top class-presenter).

For Indonesian movie, it has a good-nice cinematography, and nice score. The producer successfully turned a simple story into an attractive one. It also has some nice refreshing dialogue.

Okay, to end it, if you have a promise, you have to make it real, no matter what.

    Memorable Moment:

Joni forced to accompany Taxi Driver's wife to a hospital and met Tantowi Yahya as the doctor, with his famous quote, "Are You Sure?" from Indonesian's Who Wants to be a Millionaire.

    Memorable Quote:

There's several type of audience. 10th, the perfectionist one.

    Synopsis

...( read more)bucket.com/albums/nn53/nesisth/s12.jpg" hspace=3 vspace=3 align=right width=100>Film. Probably the the greatest blessing that art ever gave to mankind. Everybody knows the filmmaking process. But only a few understands the role of a young man named Joni (Nicholas Saputra) in the process. He's the man behind the screen. It depends on him whether people can watch a movie at a theater or not. Joni is a film delivery guy. One day, he meets a beautiful young woman (Mariana Renata) who will tell him her name, only if he promises he can deliver the reels of the film she is going to see on time. Joni thinks it's gonna be easy. But that day, it seems that the whole city is conspiring to make him fail to keep his promise.

    My Review

Janji Joni is an unique Indonesian movie.ENTERTAINING, BUT NOT CHEAP. May be some of you needs to know how the Indonesian movies condition lately. After the darkest period of Indonesian movie industry, Indonesian movie tried to strike back in the air, with plenty of breathtaking collection of movies. May I mention Berbagi Suami (Love For Share), Ayat-ayat Cinta (Verse of Love), and the latest is Laskar Pelangi (Rainbow Soldier). But Janji Joni is one of those movies who setted Indonesian movies back on track.

The story is non-typical, about a film delivery guy, which maybe all of us never put a concern on his difficult job. The debutant director Joko Anwar brought us an entertainment comedy with brain. The amin casts are brilliant, except fot Mariana Renata, she is beautiful, but her acting was unnatural, compared to the other casts Nicholas Saputra and Rachel Maryam.

Now that I've seen good collections of Indonesian movie, I started to think optimistic for the rest of Indonesian movie's future. YOU SHOULD TRY TO WATCH THEM.

Film. Mungkin karya seni terbesar yang pernah dibikin manusia.
(A movie. It is probably the biggest work of art the world has ever made.)

    -Nicholas Saputra as Joni-
