Cheesy good fun for the family, but seeing in 3-D is essential. Part thrill ride, part video game, part virtual reality, it is a lively and satisfying update of a good old-fashioned Saturday afternoon serial adventure saga. Icelandic actress Anita Briem is a plus.
While the film itself may not be more than decent popcorn entertainment, having little more to do with the classic Jules Verne story than the basic idea, it is the IMAX experience that is so much fun and should be rated here. The film lacks the atmosphere and charm of the old Jam...( read more)
I love films that were made for no other reason than the one of simply entertaining crowds. It was silly, shallow, pointless but fun nonetheless. I won't even bother talking about the direction or the performances because it is highly irrelevant. For what it is, it's a great film...( read more)
I didn't expect much out of this movie but I quite enjoyed it. Too bad it was short, an extra 15 minutes might have made a huge difference instead of rushing from set piece to set piece. Very good effort overall though.
