    Even though Shimizu is no longer in the director's chair (though he's still writing) this is a great entry in the series. Harkening back to the made for video entries, this is very low key with great atmosphere and scares. After the terrible American Grudge 3 it's great to see ...( read more)the series back on the right track (though I think Shimizu had absolutely nothing to do with the Grudge 3, I guess it unfortunately still fits into the Ju-on mythology).

    This is the 1st of 2 movies to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Grudge franchise. It revolves around a family massacre that happened due to a son failing his bar exams. He's very creepy especially when he tries to molest his little sister and provides a couple of shocking mo...( read more)ments. The story jumps from the past to the present and it never explains properly who was under the grudge. There's nothing to link this with the previous Grudge movies apart from a fleeting appearance from Toshio. Bad acting apart, this was a nice little chiller which was fairly scary although it can never live up to the 1st Grudge movie. It's a shame it was so short at 60 mins, I wanted more.

    really good, this movie is creepy and it had some great creepy moment and one and two shocking moments too,
