not bad, a kinda funny chick flick. the little brother is funny. its not bad. like she's the man. not bad.
She is soooo hot! I love this movie and crushed on Terri for the longest time, no wonder I'm confused about my sexuality.
this is a sweet movie from the mid 80īs and it has some laughing points, a typical 80īs teenage movie
A teen tittie movie of the usual ilk. Smutty gags and a constant besting of bumb teachers and dumber other students. Does it all come together in the end? Course!
Joyce Hyser is terrific playing the gender bender role. Enough lines to keep you quoting all year! I'm a lean mean sex machine and that be the way it 'tis.
Awesome movie! My brother and I have LOVED this movie since we were a lot younger & therefore, I STILL love it!! A lot of cute "one-liners" & if you've been reading my comments, you know how important movies become to our family when we incorporate those sayings into our "regular day life". . . It just creates a stronger love for certain movies, but I just remember how this movie was just really cute. . . It's an old concept now (especially after "She's the Man", which I believe was based from THIS movie!) At any rate, this movie is extraordinarily BETTER than that movie. If you liked that movie, you'll truly enjoy this movie. Trust me!!
This could be a decent premise if it is done correctly, but it's not here. I get that pretending to be a guy and turning in a news article could be different, but I don't understand how continuing to be a guy is going to improve your writing. What article is she writing. That didn't make any sense.
This movie is OK. It has all the typical silly parts when a girl is pretending to be a guy - troubles in gym (especially in skins vs shirts), etc. I thought Joyce Hyser was fine as an actress - wonder why I have not seen her in any other movies.
This is the movie was original, 'she's the man' was a remake that I would rather not even bother with. This film is one for the whole family. I love it!
One of the 1,189 movies where a girl tries to pass as a man. There's only two problems with that! LOL!!!!!
Enjoyed this one. Easy to laugh at the funny situations that arose after Terry changed schools and pretended to be a boy for her newspaper article.
I dimly remember this movie....like, did I get up, sometime in my freshman year of high school? Did I think, fuck I don't want to go to school tomorrow?
Did I wander downstairs and turn on the television looking for an old episode of All in the Family or the Odd Couple and find this instead?
Probably. Did I watch it all the way until the end?
I think so.
Was it because I was dreading school the next day so keenly?
Yes. Almost certainly.
This movie just reminds me of how miserable I was.
a true 80's classic--what a girl wouldn't do to impress a guy she falls for but is too shy to tell him how she feels--be "one of the guys!" i loved this movie then and i love it now even more :)
One of the underrated films of the 1980s. A great film about a girl who dresses as a boy cause she thought she wasn't being taken seriously in a journalism competition. Still a very funny film and great cast. A classic film from 1985. Joyce Hyser, Clayton Rohner, Billy Jacoby and William Zabka make up this great cast.
Oh my goodness, this used to be my movie. I still love it. Great typical 80's movie. Both girls and gals can enjoy it. For those of you that haven't seen it, it's very similar to Amanda Bynes "She's the Man." I actually just saw that movie last night. After watching it, I believe that it's a remake of Just One of the Guys.
One of the better of the 80's teen flicks. A girl poses as boy to get her story published for the school newspaper and complications ensue. Very, very funny. Holds up pretty good today. The brother, Buddy is hilarious.
Terry: "You know, sometimes I just wish I was a guy." Buddy: "No you don't! The male body needs sex at all times! It's a living hell!"
Not a big fan of 80s teen comedies, nor have I ever been particularly fond of the gender-bending variety -- this one, however, has a little more going for it. And Joyce Hyser is just HOT -- come on!
this is one of those 80's flicks you cant help but love! I always find it very disturbing that her best friend when she is a boy, ends up falling in love with her!? Bizzare.
I thought this one would suck, but it was really pretty good. Joyce Hyser put in a good performance here.
