great start to a new set of characters was a bit confusing at first but i watched it a second time, and put all the details together. would be nice to see what happens next.
Very flashy and fast, this 2-part OVA is very good when it comes to animation, characters, and action. However, because this film is in 2 parts, You need to watch the 2nd to fully enjoy this. It's still a great movie though.
this is called,The Batman meets blade runner...lol! good visual effect but the computer brings a not to good touch...rare, but true!!! give it a try anyways!!
This is a wonderful cg action packed animation, cant wait for more...and why it's not full 5 stars, the end is well missing, heard the sequel is out in japan, please please release in the us already.
Karas is a vague and sketchy anime adventure. The first three volumes linked in 'The Prophecy' provide great entertainment. The anime is visually stunning and packed with action, as for the plot, it's definatly interesting and gripping, but you have to work your way through the lack of information your provided with for it to become so.
Not alot is explained or made clear within the first three volumes, as to what is actually happening on screen, fortunatly for the viewer though, it seems the creators are aware of this, and provide us with text to guide us through. With the DVD comes a lengthy blurb on the back of the box, and a detailed poster of information regarding the story and it's characters.
The challenge of going that bit further to follow the film may put some off, but Karas has alot to offer the patient and forgiving viewer. Maybe it's not the best form of story telling, and the film is definatly not flawless, but Karas is merely trying to hide it's flashy visuals and basic plot behind fan research. I applaud it for this, because if you really want to enjoy a film like Karas, then you should be willing to give it that extra bit of time and effort.
From the outset it grips you and makes you just think "wow". The 3D and 2D blend together perfectly unlike many attempts in other movies. Bring on the 2nd installment i say, sooner the better.
One of the best looking Animes I have ever seen. It seemlessly blends 2D and 3D images. Usually I'm against this kind of mixing, but it works great in this movie. The story also promisses to be very interesting. It's a little hard to tell because this is just the first disc in a series. The fight scenes are fast, furious and beautiful. Its a shame more animes don't feature battles this good. Karas also features good sound and music. If you like Anime you have to watch this movie.
Imagine "The Matrix," "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon," and mecha anime all thrown into a crazy anime with no real story, but insane action sequences with wonderful special effects. That's what you got here. If they had troubled to work a story into the story then it would've been much better.
This anime is just pure eye-candy. The animation is so fluid as it blends 2-d and 3-d effects that it's just lovely to behold. The action is amazing, and the English dub was one of the best I've heard. Highly recommended for any anime or sci-fi fan.
A really well done anime with a great japanese cast. I haven't heard it in english, nor am i looking to. The CGI and the animation blend together extremely well... the idea of a huge back story that isn't given is also very cool. The film needs more continuing story though.
Awful anime about a guy who gets a super suit that he uses to take out ghosts. It's Power Rangers meet Ghostbusters in cartoon form. Only the most hardcore anime fans will find anything to enjoy here.
