Not bad, not great, has some memorable lines and scenes that make the film enjoyable more than once.

Very funny, one of Ferrell's best. Some great lines and it was really good casting. The kids in this movie were mostly pretty good actors.

Early Ferrell, but still shows sparks of great comedy. Typical underdog sports movie, but still lotsa fun and the kids are great fun! Rober Duvall is awesome as the mean Dad/rival of Ferrell, but a great actor in an average film, does not make a good movie. Good for a lazy Sunday...( read more)

This movie is hardly enjoyable, I think that it wasn't the best decition from Will Ferrell to make this film. the plot seems kinda weak and with some holes in the story. I feel it a little childish at some moments. The cast was decent, the kids were very funny specially the littl...( read more)

I used to not care for Will Ferrell's stupidity but I think he has grown on me because I thought this movie was hilarious.

Kicking & Screaming was quite a funny film, Will Ferrell did another great job of yelling his heart out.

this is a pretty funny flick. the ending is sappy for sure and everything is resolved in two minutes, but their are lots of laughs.
Critic Reviews
Sit in a room by yourself, look at a blank screen for 90 minutes, and you'll have more of a chance of laughing at your own thoughts than you will at this movie. full review
Both Duvall and Mike Ditka, who plays himself and helps coach Phil's team, spend too much of the movie on the bench, and while they're there, the jokes run thin. full review
Most of the time, [the kids] go along. Most of the time we do, too. full review
A good script is the most essential ingredient for a good movie. Hiring a comedian isn't enough. full review
An entertaining family movie, and may serve a useful purpose if it inspires kids to overthrow their coaches and take over their own sports. full review
A so-so family sports comedy that aims a weak satirical kick at the divided soul of the American middle-class dad, as personified by Will Ferrell. full review
Kicking & Screaming is yet another low-budget, high-concept vehicle for Will Ferrell to say and do dumb stuff, throw hissy-fits, get punched in the face, and find redemption (as both a dad and a son). full review
Kicking & Screaming gives us Ferrell in top form. As the mentor to a squad of hapless 10-year-olds, he's the least mature person on the field. full review
Thank God for coffee, which provides the only caffeinated jolt to the otherwise deflated Kicking and Screaming. full review
