This British film based loosely on a real story is about a man who's father has left him a shoe-company that had been in the family for 3 generations, but now was about to go under. He looks for a 'niche' to bolster business and decides to manufacture "kinky boots" and shoes for transvestites. He has to not only hope he can sell the boots by having a winning show in Milan, but sell himself to his factory worker employees and gain their faith and respect. Very sweet story actually and the grandest performance is by Chiwetel Ejiofor - who knew just how to wear those boots. Check out special features for a look at the actual shoe factory and some of the real life characters this film depicts.

MCT:April 21, 2008Yeah! For uplifting British comedies about working class people. And of course Chiwetel Ejiofor is marvelous. He's about as gorgeous as a woman as he is a man.
