Me encantó.. la historia es interesante, más tratándose de una pelicula basada en una historia real, muy particular por cierto. Muy buenos personajes.. especialmente Lola.

A shoe company owner goes to extreme measures to save the company. Will it work? Will he learn a valuable lesson? Will there be a romantic sub-plot? Will they make it to the Milan shoe festival? This is pretty much The Full Monty 2. It follows the exact same patterns, with loved ones hammering down the young hero for his ridiculous ideas. Ejiofor is of course amazing, avoiding cliche and making a heartfelt and moving performance. A lot of the film seems dull in comparison, apart from the unexplainably dramatic score, I thought the lost ark was about to be raided or the Jedi's would return at any moment. The film may have worked better as a more whimsical farce despite being based on a true story. Funny? Yes. But painfully predictable, especially the soundtrack. "These boots are made for walking"? "It's a Mans World" they're all here.

This British film based loosely on a real story is about a man who's father has left him a shoe-company that had been in the family for 3 generations, but now was about to go under. He looks for a 'niche' to bolster business and decides to manufacture "kinky boots" and shoes for transvestites. He has to not only hope he can sell the boots by having a winning show in Milan, but sell himself to his factory worker employees and gain their faith and respect. Very sweet story actually and the grandest performance is by Chiwetel Ejiofor - who knew just how to wear those boots. Check out special features for a look at the actual shoe factory and some of the real life characters this film depicts.

Yeah! For uplifting British comedies about working class people. And of course Chiwetel Ejiofor is marvelous. He's about as gorgeous as a woman as he is a man.

Hilarious and done in good taste. It was cute in a moving way if you looked past the humor and come on, with a title like that, who couldn't want to see it?

Another movie along the lines of "Calendar Girls", "The Full Monty", and "Saving Grace" that takes traditional, proper English folks and plunks them down into an "improper" situation. This time it's the world of cobblers meeting the world of drag queens. And like the above-mentioned movies, because this one focuses less on the situation and more on the characters, it's a highly entertaining film. Thanks in large part to Chiwetel Ejiofor, who is fast becoming one of my favorite actors. He is able to completely inhabit every role I've seen him in thus far. Great movie with a wonderful boot-themed finale.

A film with it's heart in the right place but unfortunately it is little more than mediocre. Chiwetal Ejiofor is a hoot as Lola, and it's lovely to see Joel Edgerton in a film (Will was always my favourite in the Secret Life Of Us) but not something I'd go out of my way to see again. Oh, and Northampton is not 'up north' but only a tiny way out of London!!)

A slightly above mediocre movie, saved mainly by the great performances from Chiwetel Ejiofor and Joel Edgerton. Slightly annoyed, as a genuine Northerner, that they kept referring to Northampton as 'North England' but never mind. Some genuinely heartwarming moments and worth a watch as a cute little oddity of a movie.

A man inhertis his father shoe-making factory only to discover the family business is on the verge of closing down due to a number of factors: lack of sales, variety in styles...etc.

He doesn't know what else to do but to lay off his fathers employees that is, until one suggests that he finds a way to keep the business running. He finds a way, alright. A new, fresh idea...one that has yet to be embarked upon by any other shoemaker...

This movie will send you in a whirlwind of emotions. It's fun, yet touches on a variety of sensitive subjects.

A great adaptation of a true story coming to the big screen. This film seemed slow in some parts and dry. All and all it was a good film. Chiwetel Ejofor played a transvestite cabaret star fantastically and held this film together. I liked the fact he sang when he was preforming. I think more and more should sing their own songs..well if they can sing. This film had great messages to be yourself know matter what you get into,or where you end up in life.

This is definitely lighthearted fun and it made me laugh. It's not for everyone, but it is funny and a good time and it made us chuckle. And plus, Ejiofor does a great job.

Lola's character really makes this movie work, it's a lovely story. XD And also, if you have the DVD, the deleted scenes are interesting to watch as well.

This reminded me a little of "To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar" only in a shoe factory in England.

And remember. You are not making footwear. You are not making boots. You are making two and a half feet of irresistible, tubular sex!

Because the two are diffrent in so many ways but in the end both feature drag queens as the star I am going to compare this to "The Birdcage". To begin with "The Birdcage" is much funnier. Yes its very over the top but overall much funnier. Really this one was quite dull, not to say it wasn't charming or cute and didn't have its moments; but mainly chuckles and smiles and a couple laughs was all it garnered. The other characters are ok but Ejiofor steels the show as the drag queen Lola; however he could never hold a candle to Nathan Lane. Again he was over the top while this guy was subtle; but it almost needed this to get it over the hump! Even the levels the character shows don't really matter as this is quite dull! "The Birdcage" had a much better soundtrack as well! So really, a few funny bits and decent performances, a cute premece but really kind of on the boring side!

So..Chiwetel is not the best looking cross dresser. But this is a heart felt film, and an interesting story line to talk about acceptance.
