fantastica a quimica entre Val Kilmer e Robert Downey Jr.!
  • November 20, 2009
Pretty decent piece of a mystery to be solved as a 'Lesson detective' by a thief posing as an actor... but what makes this film to be really good is its intertextuality, the way how the viewer is invited inside the discourse and the film making process, all this done with a lot o...( read more)f humor and very naturally. Dialogues fit perfectly.

A dark black comedy with a sharp story and confident and sarcastic chracters making it more edgy and natural, even with such a unplausable plot.

Robert Downey Jr's back from the dead film. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is hillarious. Robert Downey Jr plays Harry, a new movie star doing a research for his new role. But when Harry's childhood sweetheart, Harmony, comes bringing in a new case. Harry and Perry must start working together in a most unusual partnership.

well thought out script with some excellent quotes. tries to be like one of those old film noir thrillers and succeeds. mary castro, val kilmer and robert downey jr. all make an excellent partnership. well done to shane black for his directorial debut. he's usually a writer. he a...( read more)lso wrote the last boy scout as well as the lethal weapon series which i guess accounts for the humour. also an excellent climax. not one to miss!

Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang had me with low expectations for a long time. However when I first saw it a couple of days ago, I was blown away. The style and plot are nothing new, but hell do they function in an entertaining and unique manner. You should not miss this film, since it is hi...( read more)larious also and I won't spoil any detail of it.

Harry: I peed on the corpse. Can they do, like, and ID from that?
Perry: I'm sorry, you peed on...?
Harry: On the corpse. My question is...
Perry: No, my question. I get to go first. Why in plu-perfect hell would you pee on corpse?

A very funny murder mystery mixed with...( read more) the setup of a buddy action flick. Shot with lots of style to feel akin to a neo noir, with classy yet modern soundtrack that's fitting.

As much fun as the story is, the film survives through its dialog, the majority of which plays like a large inside joke, but it can still be hilarious with the right viewers, namely those who enjoy witty sarcasm and smart ass back talk.

Mr. Frying Pan: Well now, here we all are. Ike, Mike and Mustard.
Harry: What the hell does that mean?
Mr. Fire: You know, I'm with him on this one man, that's pretty fuckin' obscure.
Mr. Frying Pan: Horse shit, I hear that all the time.
    Mr. Fire: You do?
    Mr. Frying Pan: Yeah, sure.
Mr. Fire: Where, at the 1942 club?

The story revolves around a thief posing as an actor, who gets involved in the Hollywood life where he meets a private investigator, his former dream girl, and some seedy characters who all become involved in a pulpish crime mystery.

Robert Downey Jr. as a thief/actor and Val Kilmer as a tough, gay guy have great chemistry together, and work as if they need a whole detective film series. Downey's narration throughout is also great with all the sarcastic beats to play to.

Harry: [narrating] Anyway, by now you may wonder how I wound up here. Or, maybe not. Maybe you wonder how silly putty picks shit up from comic books. The point is, I don't see another Goddamn narrator, so pipe down.

Further hilarity ensues due to how dark the comedy is, body parts are severed and misunderstandings of deaths come aplenty, making things all the merrier.

Michelle Monaghan, as the femme fatal of the piece, is able to keep up with the leads, and is also very cute with some edge to her character making things all the better.

Harmony: Well, for starters, she's been fucked more times than she's had a hot meal.
Harry: Yeah, I heard about that. It was neck-and-neck and then she skipped lunch.

The plot moves and twists around, but paying attention you can see a lot of it come through and still realize how hilariously dark this movie is. It's self aware nature mixed with the hilarious treatment of the buddy comedy aspect make this into a continually great movie to enjoy.

B-Movie Actress: So what do you do for a living?
Harry: Uh, I'm retired. I invented dice when I was a kid. How about you do?

Every time someone spots this on my DVD rack and wonders what it is, I say we must watch it, and they end up enjoying it a lot. It is an underseen movie that deserves as big an audience as it can get.

    Harry: Is she dead?
Perry: No, she's just resting her eyes for a minute. Of course she's fucking dead, her neck's broken.

una pelicula con algo de acción y algo de comedia q disfrutaras
  • September 5, 2009
A movie that was witty and clever with many turns, but was just too quick for me. I recommend it for those who like Mommento, Usual Suspects, LA Confidential, Get Shorty, etc. Crime in southern CA; a detective follows leads that keep getting stranger and more coincidental.

I found this movie to be very witty and entertaining. The movie was quite comical because of the situations it places the viewer in. It is constantly twisting and turning to the very end and always leaves you second guessing what is really happening. The movie is also very ero...( read more)tic and has a sexual side. I found the actors to be very well equipped for the roles they played. The script and dialog was quite contiguous and there were no plot holes. All in all a well made movie with solid acting to back it up.

Shane Black, the writer behind Lethal Weapon 1 & 2, Last Action Hero, Monster Squad and The Last Boycout wrote and directed this film that fell off the radar in 2005. This is his first time behind the camera and he handles it quite well. It plays on the themes of film noir and mi...( read more)xes it with dark comedy, which is one of the pulls, for me anyway, to this film. One example here being a scene in which Michelle Monaghan slams the door on Robert Downey Jr...only to find out his finger in the door. There are several great gags like this spread throughout the film but none of them detract from Black telling the story. And what a twisted story it is. The dialogue is wall to wall and contains quotes that you'll find yourself quoting.

Robert Downey Jr., Val Kilmer and Michelle Monaghan are all great here but for me, Downey's performance is top notch. This is one of those films that is perfect to watch with a bunch of friends who don't mind a film that is not only incredibly funny but really smart as well.

A brillliantly clever film, with one liners that will have you falling off your seat, in laughter.

Don't know if I've ever seen anything funnier than this. Most the time I see something with half as much over-the-top screwball twists and I quickly lose interest and get bored. But this one? Totally hysterical. And bonus!... Robert Downey Jr. at his hilarious best AND Val Ki...( read more)lmer as a gay P.I.? OK, perhaps it tries way too hard to be funny (i.e., Downey with a bullet in his chest and hand bleeding from a finger that was ripped off - twice, and then stolen by a dog... anyway he jumps off an overpass onto a precariously teetering casket and breaks his fall by hanging on to the hand that is sticking out of it and manages to shoot and kill 2 bad guys.) but, trust me, it works!

This is a brilliant film with a sharp script. The performances from Val Kilmer and Robert Downey Jr make this film even better with great comedy lins from each of them, although confusing at times this is a great film with action, humour and peeing on a corpse!

Tries way too hard to be hip, but worth a watch. Beware critics who tell you this is the great "little movie" of 2005. They're jerking themselves off with the idea of appreciating something that others have overlooked.
