This movie EVEN had ME crying...my daughter said she liked it...she laughed a little, but I don't think she was COMPLETELY ready for this movie yet...maybe in a year? It was funny too, and showed how kids can solve a crime. Good depiction of the Great Depression, when basically EVERYONE was poor!
i think that it is going to be a good movie. my grandma said that it was the best movie she has ever seen. now i know that its coming from my grandma but shes like super cool.
Everyone in my family loved it! It was really cute! Now my little cousin susan is going to begin reading all of the books. Also for christmas or her birthday her mom is going to get her an american girl dollk but she isn't sure which one yet. anyway it was a wonderful!!!!!!!!!
This was a cute little movie...very entertaining...I laughed...I cried...well...my friend cried...I was mostly laughing...and got a little sad at the sad parts...but anyway ...it is a really cute movie for little kids and the whole family for that matter...
I'm adorable and blond! Let's have adventures that parents will find inoffensive and that will keep the children in a numbed down state of apathy for the duration of the film.
Yeah I was really surprised with this one. It was extremly cute! And very emotional. The story was great. and it had a good message. This is a good one for women of all age. :)
sooo gay u know whats gonna happen and very corny i mean 6 years olds might like it but they might not understand cuz its bout like how people are poor cuz of money maybe 8 yrs olds might
This is not a movie for boys, but the girls loved it. I was kind of hoping that they would want to see Wall-e. But I'm glad we saw this one. It is really good. It's kind of sad throughout though! It's about the depression!
i took my lil sis to see this who is a huge american girl fan...ya i wasnt expecting to enjoy it but it was a fun watch...i love that kid with the big ears lol !
Movies intended for young girls usually centre on fancy clothes, fairy tale love and unrealistic portraits of life. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl focuses on none of those things...
Breslin is wonderful as the bright and inquisitive Kit. Having first captured moviegoers' hearts in Little Miss Sunshine, here she achieves just the right balance of sweet and aggressive that her ambition and convictions require. Although she treads the line of know-it-all, which bright-eyed children tend to do, she never crosses over to annoying.
The adults in the film, particularly Cusack, turn themselves over to the story's charm. O'Donnell sports some grays and a very natural fatherly concern, while Ormond genuinely appears to be just trying to roll with the punches. And Tucci is quite the believable professional illusionist. But Cusack is fantastic as the zany librarian, staying just under the threshold of too over-the-top (even though it often looks like she has to use the ladies room). Most of the adults are eventually reduced to bumbling caricatures but nothing less could be expected of a film aimed at kids...

The coolest kid's movie of the year. A cross between old Shirley Temple and original Our Gang, or Little Rascals shorts, set in the Depression era. Kit Kitredge is a smart, funny, heartwarming movie. Due to being released in summer, not an Oscar contender, but should be. So far, the best picture of 2008.
My middle daughter, her friend and I went to go see it and it was a really good movie. It made you think about the great depression and what they went through. It is a must see movie.
she is NOT the right girl for this part. i dont want to see it because she is the actress in it. dont get me wrong, i like her in other movies, but she should not be in this. :(
i didnt like the nancy drew movie, so why would i watch this one? it looks like the exact same thing... i mean come on people can we get any less original?
As lame as I am...I want to see this because I grew up with the American Girl dolls--owned a couple so I would see this when it comes out on DVD or Dish Network
I've read every single American Girl book, I LOVE American girl! I really want to see this movie, but i don't think my parents want to see it, i'll just wait until it comes out on dvd.
