Though billed second, Hawks plays a comparatively minor role in the story, which deals with the redemption of one Dr. Cromwell (Lyle Talbot). Having failed to pull off a delicate operation, Cromwell leaves his practice in disgrace, heading to Alaska in hopes of losing himself (or, possibly, finding himself).
