The Foundation for Law & Government (FLAG) steps in with a possible solution to help the police force & unveil a red custom car reminiscent of the Pontiac Banshee: "Knight 4000" become the next generation of the Knight Industries supercar called KITT.
Devon Miles (Edward Mulhare) & his partner, Russel Maddock (Carmen Argenziano) decides to bring in Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) as the test driver.
Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) comes out of retirement to assist an old friend and a talking car in making the dream of a new car for a new world come true.
This was originally supposed to be the pilot episode for a new Knight Rider series but Hasselhoff did not want to do it as a full time thing so the show was cancelled.
This movie is available as an extra feature in the Knight Rider Season 1 DVD box set.
I really dug the theme song and thats about where the movie peaks. The acting was fine and all but the story was a little weak. It took way to long to get the new KITT car off the ground and while I thought the design was cool it never really felt like KITT.
An awesome 1991 movie, a great "Knight Rider" reunion. David Hasselhof back as Michael Knight and the late Edward Mulhare as Devon Miles and William Daniels as the voice of KITT. The story takes place in the year 2000 in Seattle where guns are banned and criminals are put in cryostasis. A group of rogue cops are selling illegal guns on the market. Love the new car in this move, the Knight 4000, A great movie for Knight Rider fans like me to watch.
