This film will turn out good depending on how you look at it. This is a made for TV movie that will maybe spark a TV series. So, if you watch this and are expecting a sensational blockbuster this will definitely disappoint. For a TV movie though, it isn't too bad. You can also say that this is like a 2 hour TV episode.
The story is straightforward and you don't have to have watched the older TV series or movies to get a grasp of this. Although, like most other movies in this category, watching the series makes things so much easier to pick up. Especially character relationships. There isn't a whole lot of dramatic parts in this film and there is a good dosage of K.I.T.T. It is really hard to find this boring, unless you are expecting a bunch of awesome CG and over the top action. The CG is indeed nice, but there isn't a whole lot of it. There are a few car chases, but nothing comparable to Ronin.

As far as the new K.I.T.T. is concerned, the model is acceptable. Black and slick. In this film though, the car is a little overpowered, in my opinion. Changing colors and being nearly indestructible is overdoing it by just a little bit.

The acting is OK. Justin Bruening isn't all that great in the beginning, but by the end he shows he can be the next driver. Sydney Tamiia Poitier is underused, but pulls off a good FBI agent. The lead actress, Deanna Russo, is nothing special. She reminds me of Zooey Deschanel. Val Kilmer's voice isn't too bad for K.I.T.T. Not as good as the original. Last but not least, what would Knight Rider be without the Hoff, passing the torch.

This is not a huge movie that you will be talking about for days, but it is a decent watch if you like Knight Rider.
