A young artist Kyra lays semi-conscious in a hospital bed.She was brought savagely slashed and battered, uttering one word 'Kolobos'.36 hours later Kyra, enticed by a free vacation offer, participates in an experimental film.Unfortunately she and the rest of the cast soon discover that they are trapped in a lodge with sealed doors and windows and no means of escape. One by one, they encounter a vicious killer with a mutilated face."Kolobos" is a pretty good experimental slasher which reminds me a little bit another unsettling horror film "My Little Eye".The acting by totally unknown cast is decent and the killings are very gory and sadistic. The film is heavily influenced by Italian giallos, especially the works of Dario Argento and this is another reason to see it.The musical score by William Kidd clearly copies the main theme by Goblin from "Suspiria".The death scenes are gruesome including nasty teeth-smashing straight from "Deep Red" and a horrific eyeball puncture ala "Evil Dead Trap".The film offers some surreal scenes and enough grisly surprises to satisfy fans of low-budget horror.Give it a chance.
I don't remember much about this movie since I saw it ~ 9 years ago but I do remember the atmosphere which was hauntingly menacing. People are trapped in a mansion and the rest is sort of a 'bad guy observes you in a house full of deadly traps' type of premise. The twist confused me but reading the synopsis, it probably wasn't as great a movie. Cool killings, though - particularly one involving antlers!
Oh fuck. Such a funny um... what kind of horror was it again? Slasher? Psycho? who knows... it was fun! And that dvd cover... makes NO sense at ALL! Just remember: that faceless man is SO forgettable when you have a pad that sweet! You won't even think about checking out the attic! No worries! OH! And really fat, ropelike intestines make this one a keeper! Gets an extra half star for pissing me off with the Chopping Mall-like machines doing half the work!!
Pretty mind-numbing direct to video 'group of people in a house with spycams' slasher.Poor acting all round from the cast of relative unknowns, with a laughable script. The pretty good kills, and often surreal images/music just don't save it.I rate it alongside the similar and equally poor 'Are you scared'.
if this is the one were a load of people go stay in a house and scary stuff happens i love it lol i watched it with my auntie when i stayed their and we both got scared
Not particulaly well written or acted but great fun. A group of teenagers are forced to spend the night in a house which they discover, the hard way, is full of malicious and gruesome booby traps.
Some wonderfully gorey death scenes and even a few genuinly scarey moments. It was better than a lot of the other 'teen-slasher' flicks out at the time. Well worth a watch.
Low-budget poorly made horror flick with terrrible acting, laughable script and mediocre directing. Having said all that, it is not a bad movie, it just lacks story. It certainoy makes up for it with the gore, but just about every death scene was a blatant rip-off of Friday the 13th. (head on platter) one of the lines in the movie was when they were talking about a diffrent movie, "So it is a rip-off of Friday the 13th" I am not sure if that was an inside-joke with a little hidden meaning referencing "Kolobos" however, despite the deaths being recycled and done before, they are effective and very very bloody. Not for someone who gets queezy easily.
i bloody love it. blatantly the inspiration for every reality tv show. you can see where Saw got there idea from and My Little Eye. some well funny lines in this aswell, very very bloody, the face getting crushed against the sink was top balls.
An under developed concept, but some good deaths, and genuinely funny good/bad acting. "How about a steaming cup of shut the fuck up!"
This board looks lonely. Be the first to talk about "Kolobos" !
