I was disappointed in how un-Krakenlike the creature was. It was a giant CGI squid that Charlie O'Connell was going after for eating his parents when he was little. It was cool to see him go all aggro on it in the end with a machine guy. Super tense! Added bonus: there was a pre-...( read more)Glee Cory Monteith in this movie.

When this came out I heard nothing but praise for it, and I think it lives up to it. The director stylizes it a bit, but allows for an actual plot and character development, and the titular Kraken looks fairly good, most of the time, the score is easily the best part about the mo...( read more)vie, and the actors weren't god awful and suited their roles to a large degree and there was a good amount of fun to be had. If you don't like B-movies, this won't convert you, but if you do, you'll be suitably impressed. Also, this is actually decently made and fun, unlike the near perfect Shark Attack 3, which is soo bad it's brilliant. See the difference? I do!

The film starts with a boat being attacked by the kraken and the funny about this is that the bloke is holding onto the boat and a giant tentacle is wrapped around his leg pulling him towards ..... and in quite a calm voice he shouts to his wife to get the gun. What does wife d...( read more)o? Says "What?" so he has to repeat himself. Surely gun would have been one of the first things to think of without being prompted? I should have taken this opening scene as a warning, the film didn't get much better, kraken is too strong a word for the large squid that appears in this film, the little screen time it does makes me wonder whether that Gryphon I saw a while back was really that bad.

if they had negative stars this film would earn it. the worst hour and a half of my life (save Doogle) it unfolds slower than a soap opera.
